“Nice hotel but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2011

We shopped at 2 hotels from the guidebook and chose this one for the great view, which is spectacular, and a reasonable room rate. The hotel was quite nice, spacious and lovely - one of the nicest this budget traveler has stayed in. Breakfast was good and overlooked the valley.

The disappointment came because when I went to take a shower at 11pm, there was no hot water. This followed the 10pm event of discovering our sink was slow/no drain. Then, we found the manager-on-site who was sympathetic but of course, she was unable to fix it. By 11pm, there was no one to ask about the hot (cold) water issue.

In the morning there was plenty of hot water so don't know what happened the night before. The sink remained clogged until we left to visit Delphi, after finishing our morning rituals. We asked for a discount based on the two issues - even 5 euros would have satisfied us. The hotel lady was apologetic but defensive that we insisted on a discount, which we never got. We were unable to speak directly with the owner.

The hotel also charged 2.50 euros/ hour for internet use. At no other hotels in Greece was I charged for internet use. Their explanation was that 'all the other hotels in Delphi charge.' This was a turn-off, too.

I recommend you stay in a nearby town and just visit Delphi in the morning; you only need a couple hours for the site; a couple more if you want to pay high prices for souvenirs.

We stayed there for a weekend with my husband. The view was unbelievable, the room was cozy and nice but there wasn't all day hot water, the night the central heating was turned off and the biggest problem was that the rooms weren't noise proof!!!We could even here our neighbors breath!!The breakfast was decent enough ,other than that it's a nice place to stay for a weekend!

Very easy to find as it is on the main road on the way to the tourist site. Hotel is located overlooking the vallesy with room aving balcony overlooking the magnificent valley. Cannot fault the service, cleanlines or location as a 6 star hotel could not surpass the experience staying here. Wifi is great for those with laptops. Breakfeast while complimentary is basic but does the job. Hotel is let down in part by its age which shows in the decor and the beds which are not very comfortable (3 inches thick and very hard mattresses). It is a 2 star hotel that could be a 3 star with some investment to bring it up to standard. Would recommend for 1 night for those who would not have a problem back and willl keep going on their journey around greece the following day. Bed let this lovely place down.

We stay in Hermes hotel in Delphi visit archailogical sites in Greece.
We had No 53 high up on the second floor and the view from that room is like you are in air plane ,you can look down the olline valley until the seaside of the corinthian Gulf (it is about 600 meters from sea level)
The breakfast room has the same view.

We were in a tour in Greece, going to Meteoroa, and had to stay only one night at this hotel... and it was enough. The only item that really was awsome was the view. But the room was old, small and ugly, bathroom very small and dark, and we ourselves had to take our baggage down and upstairs. Breakfast was regular, but we had to wait for a table. If we had a choice, we should change.
