“It is necessary to see!”

The place where you can still feel the spirit of old times. A breathtaking view of the whole of Athens and the port of Piraeus. Great theater of Dionysus. You just have to see this!

“Interesting exhibits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

I am not a big museum fan so in my opinion the best part of the museum is the movie on the 3rd floor that provides the history of the Parthenon and how it was built. There is a 3D movie that shows in the morning that is supposed to be even better. As many have commented, the museum is air conditioned which is a welcome relief from the heat. The displays are pretty sterile and most of the pieces have been "reconstructed" and only are partially original stones but I guess that is to be expected when something is constructed B.C. Lots of cute shops on the walkway outside the museum. This is the best area to buy high quality replicas of original pieces.

“Curated beautifully and well thought out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

What a beautiful building and well thought out museum. A must visit after the Parthenon to better understand the Acropolis and the myriad of architectural and historical details. 5€ entry is a bargain for a museum which you can easily spend half a day in air conditioned comfort.

“Very Ancient Museum..Worth to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

I liked it very much..Unfortunately, they have some construction during our visit. But we still like it very much..
The Acropolis is definitely the most important monument of the city, The Acropolis stands on the Holy Rock of Athens, that we can have the chance to explore, passing by the Propylaea and moving towards the Temple of Athena Nike, Erechteion and Parthenon, which was built 2.500 years ago, in the 5th century BC.
Fantastic...
We would suggest to combine the tour to the Acropolis with a visit to the new Acropolis Museum, on your own, to get a complete idea of the marbles of the Parthenon and the other important artefacts and statues from that time.
