What a beautiful building and well thought out museum. A must visit after the Parthenon to better understand the Acropolis and the myriad of architectural and historical details. 5€ entry is a bargain for a museum which you can easily spend half a day in air conditioned comfort.

“Very Ancient Museum..Worth to see”

I liked it very much..Unfortunately, they have some construction during our visit. But we still like it very much..
The Acropolis is definitely the most important monument of the city, The Acropolis stands on the Holy Rock of Athens, that we can have the chance to explore, passing by the Propylaea and moving towards the Temple of Athena Nike, Erechteion and Parthenon, which was built 2.500 years ago, in the 5th century BC.
Fantastic...
We would suggest to combine the tour to the Acropolis with a visit to the new Acropolis Museum, on your own, to get a complete idea of the marbles of the Parthenon and the other important artefacts and statues from that time.

Wonderful museum where great work is on-going on the many treasures of Athens. Nice restaurant with view of the Acropolis too.

“A modern beauty waiting for the return of the Elgin Marbles”

For 5Euro you get one of the most modern beautiful museums in the world. The view from the terrace of the Acropolis is unparalleled and two beautiful art nouveau apartment buildings were sacrificed to get that view but it was worth it.. I applaud the vision of the architect. You get so much for your money here and Athens should be genuinely proud of this stunning addition to it's list of museums. It is definitely the best thing to do after visiting the actual Acropolis itself.

“AMAZING...MUST SEE!!!”

This new museum blew us away. The idea behind the design of the museum is transparency. Therefore, most of the museum is made of glass...glass floors where you can see ruins from an ancient city that was unearthed when building the foundation for the museum...glass walls with breathtaking views of the Acropolis. The museum building itself is also cleverly proportioned to the Acropolis. The pieces in the museum are well-spaced and clearly labeled. We highly recommend a guided tour because we learned so much detail about the museum itself and ancient Greece that we probably wouldn't have known otherwise. We booked a tour through Tour Greece. They were great.
