Inspite of having to walk through a narrow lonely road at night,to arrive at Omiros, it was a satisfying stay. From the airport we took the bus, 5 Euros per pax, and arrived at Syntagma square. It was just about a 5 minute walk from there. We are Asians and were very happy to find that there was an inexpensive Chinese noodle bar next door and a North Indian restaurant a stone's throw away. A few minutes walk from Omiros,we came upon a beautiful street lined with Greek restaurants. Good food!
The hotel room was very clean, comfortable with nice bathrooms. The four bedded room had a double bed and a single bed which had a drawer bed, with a comfortable matterress. The location was very good, even the hop on hop off bus stop was at the syntagma square. We were leaving to Santorini by the 7am ferry and were happy to know when we left the hotel at 430am, we just had to take a brisk walk,10 minute or lesser, to the metro station which took us to Piraeus port.It seems we were at the center of everything, right from souvenir shopping to the branded handbags area. We made one drastic mistake though, we were there on a Sunday and EVERY shop was closed, even souvenir shops!!!
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, even let us keep our baggage in their left luggage store, which was by the reception, thus safe, while we were in Santorini. Their breakfast was just alright....kids and I were disappointed no scrambled eggs or omelettes, only hard boiled. Well you can't have it all, can you?
