Superb service, such as exceptionally accurate and helpful email negotiation of airport transfers before they happened (we had some schedule changes) - transfers highly recommended, Athens airport/taxis etc. chaotic. We had the junior suite with patio and view of the Parthenon - exquisite. Complimentary drinks and fruit arrived shortly after check-in and really hit the spot. Exceptionally quiet aircon and everything perfect, comfortable and beautiful. We took pictures of the bathroom; it was that good. A return stay in a superior room was almost as nice, though it was closer to the street and had some element of noise, so you might like to ask for a quiet room if this bothers you. The restaurant is stylish, rather too quiet perhaps, but serves lovely food and a wonderful breakfast. Recommended. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this one is in a class of its own!

  • Liked — Bed, bathroom, aircon, electronic amenities and EXCEPTIONAL bathroom.
  • Disliked — Restaurant/bar needed a bit of buzz!

Stayed at the O&B during my honeymoon at the end of June for 2 nights, then again one more night after returning from the islands. The hotel arranged for taxi transfers for us from the airport which was great to not have to worry about how to get there.

The staff was super friendly and able to give advice to us about how to get places, where to eat, etc. Definitely check out Kuzina and Filistron for dinner - awesome food!

Great location, the street, as others mentioned, isnt the prettiest but who cares. As a Philly girl I'm used to it - lol. It was a very safe area though, I never felt unsafe ever in Athens. The hotel was in just a few minutes walk of plenty of shops, restaurants, the acropolis, agora, etc. Also close walk to the train station which is great and easy to use. There is an Irish pub called James Joyce right down the road (make a right out of the hotel, cross the street and you'll see it) where we watched the Euro Cup match, a lot of fun.

The first room we had was quite small but had a nice balcony with a view of Athens. The second room we had was larger, but no balcony or view which I'd prefer since who sits in the room all the time anyway. The bathrooms were wonderful and spacious showers, very nice.

The breakfast was the best!!!! Delicious and huge variety (and free!)

Def would stay here again!!!

  • Liked — Location, friendly staff, the breakfast!
  • Disliked — Nothing really - it was a great stay

My wife and I (late 30s) stayed here two nights for a vacation in late-May. Our stay was excellent and it certainly completed our visit to Athens.

Pros:
- excellent location that is close to train station, restaurants, sites
- modern, clean
- greeted us with welcome champagne and creme brulee
- bathrooms were large and shower was fantastic
- staff spoke excellent english and were able to help us with questions
- free breakfast was the best breakfast we've had at any hotel, and we do a lot of traveling
- faces quiet street

Cons:
- free internet (at least in the lobby) would have been nice
- difficult to find at first

We would definitely recommend staying here and we would certainly stay here again.

After the flight and the metro, we finally got off at the specified station. Yet it was a bit confused to begin with. Upon exiting the station, we were apparently a bit disorientated. Found the hotel after about 5 minutes of search. Apparently the map we printed online and from the airport was not very correct. It depicted Ermou St as a uninterrupted street running East - West, but it was actually blocked by a small park/ garden at the metro exit; and the church is actually a small cabin sized structure next to the garden. Anyway, we found the street and the hotel after asking around a bit.
Upon entry we were greeted by the warm staff at the hotel. We were directed to our room which was clean, tidy and as the pictures at the website. We love it. Took us a few minutes to unload our gear and plug our camera to the wall, etc.
Then we were given a welcome yogurt and champagne, which was good. It was already around 7pm at the time, and it was time for some action at the Plaka which is just across the street.
The next morning we went to the ground floor for breakfast. We were delighted by the meal, not only because it was fresh and tasty, the staff was very nice and polite, despite he was the only person to serve all tables. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and is a must-try.

  • Liked — biggest bang for the buck, close to Plaka, stylish interior, nice breakfast
  • Disliked — There was no sign and can't be seen from a distance.

I travelled to Athens for the first time and on my own, so needed to stay somewhere in a convenient location, where I'd be well looked after. I wanted it to be something special, different from the usual unpersonal big hotel. This place met my expectations! The hotel staff was amazing with booking taxis (even when I was out in town) and helping out with local knowledge, phoning around etc. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The room was fairly small, but had all the necessary, and more, and the bathroom is excellently equipped, all modern and functional.

The only downside would be the fairly high room rate - but I was not disappointed.

  • Liked — the personal touch of the service and the helpfulness of the staff
  • Disliked — the cost was a bit high...
