This is a tremendous, stylish little hotel. We were on our honeymoon and on our trip had two one night stops in Athens - one here and one at the King George in Syntagma Square for something completely different. Both were great in their own way. The service at Ochre and Brown was great, and we were made extremely welcome as soon as we set foot in their stylish little lobby. The lady on reception showed us round, then took us to our trendy deluxe room. The room wasn't massive but had a great bed, plasma screen tv and dvd player and very funky bathroom with all the products girls like so much. What's more once we had arrived in our room we were sent a basket of fruit and two glasses of champagne as congratulations for getting married - very sweet. Contrary to one or two comments below I thought the area was one of the best things about the hotel. The street on which the hotel is based looks very 'urban' but is not in any way unsafe and the whole area is very atmopsheric with its graffiti covered doorways and industrial workshops sitting alongside uber-trendy clothes shops and bars. It reminds me of certain trendy parts of New York or maybe Hoxton in London. All that and it's only a five or ten minute walk to Plaka and the sights. As I said the service was very good and getting up at an unearthly hour to leave Athens the morning after our stay the night porter made sure the taxi driver knew which ferry company we were travelling with so that we were dropped in exactly the right place at Piraeus. We loved the hotel and location so much that we will stay at the Ochre and Brown when we visit Athens again in November. Next time maybe we'll have time for breakfast!
