I have been staying at this hotel for 3 nights early January 2014.
It has been an amazing experience.
Although the location is arguably a bit run down and daunting at first (expect cramped streets, graffiti and some garbage), it is only a couple minutes away from Monastiraki, at the edge of Psirri right next to the Athinas st.
A place that is chock-full on shops and only a couple of minutes away from other points of interest.
The moment I arrived I was presented with an excellent service by the receptionist who swiftly informed me that the metro station I was departing from has contacted them that I have lost my documents there.
The rest of the staff (both the receptionists and the housekeeper who I have met during my stay) was just as friendly and welcoming, to the point I feel shameful for never finding out their names.
I had to print out some more essential documents later during the stay with the receptionist helping in the matter immediately.
The rooms are clean and large, might have been the luck on my side for getting a really big, sunlit room on one of the highest floors with a view towards the acropolis.
The hotel, although not very convincing from outside is a beautiful piece of lite minimalist style inside.
The wi-fi worked perfectly even up there, not just in the lobby as advertised. The room service was great, the pleasant housekeeper constantly kept supplying me with tons of towels shampoos and soaps.
There were mirrors everywhere, with a large one in front of one of the beds, a smaller horizontal one in front of the other one and an extra large one in the bathroom.
The bathroom was spacious and clean, the one in my room contained a bath tub with a glass panel for shower corner attached.
It felt like heaven taking hot baths there for up to three times a day !
The room was furnished with a closet, end tables, a bigger table, a sizable lcd tv, a safe and a fridge.
Though arguably the room was big enough for a coffee table and two extra chairs to fit in front of the huge window pane.
The only complaint I would have about my stay is the temple right in front of the hotel which plays a peculiar tune every couple of minutes early morning starting at like 7:15 am and will interfere with your sleep shall you want to sleep longer after a tiring travel.
Second complaint of mine was the AC that is stuck at 27 degrees c which felt unacceptably hot for somebody used to a 18c room temperature.
However these issues are nothing to take away from my final rating, especially considering the price (which was even on a last minute offer when I booked) is a complete steal for the greatness the place offers.
