“The best view of acropolis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

On your way to acropolis hill you can take a break at filopappos hill.it is the best spot to take pictures of the acropolis entrance and acropolis hill. At night plenty of young people gather there and have a night with guitars singing over the silent city lights :) beware of the slippery rocks!

“Worth climbing all the way up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Once we reached the top, the views were amazing. Worth going in the morning when it isn't as hot, as the climb as quite a workout but fun.

“Lovely views”

Well worth the hot walk up the hill, fab views of the city and Acropolis from the top. There is plenty of shade too, which makes the walk easier.

“What a gorgeous day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Filapappos Hill was a great way to spend a Sunday late morning/early afternoon in Athens. The hike was easy - monuments well marked and explained - and the view at the top was simply awesome. A panoramic 360 degree view of Athens. You could see everything from Acropolis Hill to Piraeus - to
Lykavittos Hill. If you want a more "off the beaten track" kind of hike/day, this could be it. Take a lunch and a bottle of wine to enjoy it on one of the many benches and soak it all in. Enjoy!

“restful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We only had time for a short walk round but specifically wanted to go to Pnyx Hill to see the famous views of the Parthenon. Glad we did. While buses, taxis, and crowds were milling about just a few minutes away at the roundabout/ drop off point, we strolled through shaded groves (sorry, couldn't resist the word) and only met few dog walkers. Then we sat on the rocks near the spot where, according to my Frommer's guide, Pericles must have argued for funds to build the Parthenon.
