This hotel is just a 10 minute walk from Monasteraki Square tube station which in turn is 45 min tube journey from Athens airport. "Economy" is within very easy walking distance of all the main sites.The aforementioned square is a must as the sun goes down-all life is here. Have a beer sitting alongside Hadrians Library with the Parthenon lit up behind you. The hotel staff are a mine of information & the breakfast is excellent.We stayed here for a few days on our way to & from the Peloponnese-the coach station is a 10 minute taxi-drive away. We had a great time-all the locals could not have been friendlier & despite the rumours we felt perfectly safe wherever we went, be that the "tourist" areas or off the beaten track.The student quarter off Athinas Street is well worth a look of an evening. The Greek people are going through a hard time. Help them by visiting this fabulous country. Top Tip-access Acropolis via Theatre of Dionysos to avoid long queues.

Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to the most popular sites in Athens. It is a very good value for money, very basic hotel, old but well maintained. The room was very clean and the staff was helpful. We were provided a map of the city and directions to find places. There are cheap market places within 5 minutes walking distance which you can buy fresh fruit with a very cheap price.

The Economy is one of the better budget hotels in Athens. Rooms are well maintained and the matresses are firm with good quality linen. Breakfast is basic but good. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Walking distance to most of the major attractions in central Athens.

We stayed here for two nights in May 2012. The location is central to the main attractions. Mostly within 15-20 minutes walk. The staff was friendly and offered helpful information and tips to help us familiarize with the surrounding areas. This is a place suitable for short stay and for travelers who are willing to walk and explore the neighborhoods. Yes there are some questionable businesses across the street, but there was hardly any traffic when we were there. It was good that there is always a staff at the reception area 24 hours.
