This hotel is a very good choice for a short stay in Athens, or for a budget trip. It's conveniently located in Plaka, in a walking distance to the main atractions. The hotel street is a little creepy, but a few blocks away you get to the main streets and you loose this sensation. Really nice staff, excelent breakfast and a surprisingly good room, although it's quite small. But, to be just, I must say it's very good value for the money you pay. Better than I expected. If you're looking for a cheap but good place to stay in Athens, this may be a good choice.

The hotel is in Plaka and it is not only a safe area but in a great area of Athens.
All the receptionists I met were very nice and very friendly.
The breakfast was nice.
The only negative were that the room was very small and it was on the basement so it was not very quite.

Room Tip: Avoid a room in the basement.

I feel bad giving Sweet Home Hotel 4 stars, if there was a 4 and a half option I would have gone for this... first let me start off by saying that the staff at Sweet Home are excellent. I received an email before arrival thanking me for booking with them and giving me information on how to travel to the hotel from the airport / port. I opted for the X95 bus (basically direct and 50euros cheaper than the private transfer (5 euros each way and stops a 3minute walk from the hotel).

Sweet Home Hotel is located a 2minute walk from Syntagma Square, a 2minute walk from Plaka, a 5minute walk from Monastiraki and a 7minute walk from the National Gardens. The Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill and the Agoras are super nearby too - perfect location. No need for cabs anywhere unless you want to venture further out... but for a three day break it was perfect.

The staff are lovely - Athena, Afrodite and another lovely lady who I didn't catch the name of - you made my stay exceptional - thank you!

Breakfast is included...eggs, selection of cheeses and cold meats, juices, a few desserts - enough to start your day off with. Only gripe I have is that the walls are very thin, I could hear showers and toilet flushes throughout the night. But this hardly ruined my stay. Beds were lovely - room always made up. Would highly recommend sweet home hotel to other travellers. Location cannot be beat!

We stayed here for 4 days last week and was a great stay. There was great breakfast each day, comfortable bed, fast internet, great amenities. The only complaint I have has to do with people more than the hotel. The doors are designed that you have to swipe your card to turn the handle from out side the door. So when you are closing the door if you don't swipe you have to slam it shut. People did not pay attention to this and I was constantly bothered by people slamming doors. It is a very old building and things are creaky and walls are thin so don't go here expecting silence, but even though it is old it is very up to date with modern features. Very well done. The staff is very accommodating and nice. it is located close to everything and well worth the price. I would stay here again with out hesitation.

Room Tip: The economy room is as they described 9sq meters so make sure you know what that is before booking a...

It really is a sweet place. Tastefully decorated. Great beds! Fast Wi-Fi. Delicious breakfast with homemade treats at the top of a winding staircase overlooking the city. Appears to be family owned. Afrodite and her husband both went out of their way to welcome us, even going so far as to print out our boarding passes and arrange for an airport transport for us at 4:15 am.

The place was within easy walking distance to the Acropolis and cute little shops.

I confess that Athens isn't my favorite city, but I'd stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. It would be a pleasure to support a family-run business like this one again.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the front entrance (there was a parking garage below) and tended to be a bit noi...

This hotel was in a perfect location, 5 min walk from Syntagma Square which is easy to get to from he airport. It is also 10min walk to the Acropolis, 5min walk to the Main Shopping area (Monistraki) and the Flea Market.

From Syntagma you can use the metro or buses to get around. We personally walked the streets to see more of the city.

The staff in this hotel were extremely helpful and pleasant. They always greeted us whenever they saw us, and they seemed extremely friendly.

The rooms where modern and extremely clean, and has a mini bar service and a safe. The rooms are amazing for the price we paid to stay in this hotel.

The hotels breakfast service had a great selection and there was a slight difference everyday, so that you won't get bored of eating the same thing.

This hotel is perfect to any traveller.
