“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the start of our holiday before flying out to the islands. We absolutely loved it and wished it had been available for our return night in Athens on the way home. The decor was charming, as was the room. Although a little small it had everything you could want and had a lovely calming feel about it. Breakfast was fantastic too, lovely choice of fruit, breads, cereals, yoghurts, pastries, etc. Very enjoyable stay and perfectly located for the sights and sounds of the Plaka district.

Room Tip: I can't remember the number of the room we were in, however it was the last one on the right bef...

It was my first time in this almost brand new hotel. Located in the heart of Athens, Plaka and almost 5 minutes walk from Syntagma Square and the main metro station, this hotel offers an excellent value for money. It is friendly, clean, good sized room and bathroom, comfortable bed, quite location and excellent home cooked breakfast. Only the pillows are all the same size and thickness and a bit on the cheap side. Ovearall an excellent choice either for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiter room at the rear of the hotel

We spent two nights. My wife's prime test in evaluating any hotel is the level of its
cleanliness. Sweet Home passed the test- it was immaculate. Nice attention to homely detail throughout. The staff was particularly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Breakfast, good but could be a bit better. I missed the big bowl full of Greek yogurt I found in other Greek hotels. The lady at reception recommended the restaurant opposite the Pan Hotel around the corner, and it was excellent. Avoid the restaurant next door. I would return.

Room Tip: Another reviewer mentioned noise from the street - but I found our front room very quiet

I can’t speak highly enough of this beautifully-renovated little hotel in downtown Athens. We picked it for its location, which is fantastic—a short walk to all the main attractions. It has a lot more to offer though: the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and are always eager to lend a hand; the breakfast, which is served in a quaint breakfast room on the top floor, is a delicious and generous spread of a wide variety of foods (just make sure you get there early as they don’t seem to replenish the food throughout the morning); the beds are incredibly comfortable (we stayed at a lot of other hotels during our vacation, and Sweet Home’s beds were by far the most comfortable); the bathrooms are beautiful and luxurious. I could go on. After staying at Sweet Home two nights before heading to the islands, we loved it there so much that we decided to stay again when we returned to Athens.

The rooms aren’t huge—don’t expect North American-sized suites. But they’re beautifully decorated, and suited our needs just fine.

We stayed 2 nights in this charming little hotel. The location is excellent, within walking distance to all the main touristic spots.
Reception staff were always helpful and nice.
Room size was not that big, but we didn´t expect much, since we had booked an Economic Double Room. No views, it faced an interior little courtyard, guess that made it more quiet.
Loved the decoration of the room, really stylish. Bed so comfortable and good sized. Tea/coffee facilities and air conditioning. Good Wifi signal.
Bathroom with excellent big shower, bathroom amenities and hairdryer. New towels every day.
Good breakfast served in nice breakfast room located in the upper floor of the building.
Would definitely recommend.

After reading tripadvisor review we booked this accommodation and it was the best decision we made for Athens. The review was accurate. The accommodation is very easy to get to from Syntagma station and very close to all main attraction on foot or transport and hop on hop off bus is very near by,
The hotel looks very traditional but the facilities and amenities was modern, in excellent working order and very clean.
Customer service is to be commended. Staff were helpful above and beyond with out pretense.
So happy to have had this experience. Would recommend without hesitation and will stay here again when in Athens.

Room Tip: My room had a view. Rooms are affordable.

From powerful AC to wonderful linens to a rainshower bath and fabulous full breakfasts, this small hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! Rooms were tiny but comfortable nonetheless, and breakfast room bright and attended by delightful Russian emigree. Dina and Athena were terrific hosts, making reservations and offering advice. Will definitely return here when in Athens.
