“Still worth staying at”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

We've stayed here a few times in the past 5 years. Last Dec 2010, we stayed and found the quality of the facility to have seriously lapsed, however, it does not keep us from recommending the hotel due to its great location just 2 blocks from Syntagma Square. Its close enough to walk but far enough to avoid the continued protests. We found the regular double rooms in better shape then the larger more expensive double. Regardless, the breakfast is good and the Staff are always very helpful. We would still stay here again.

Within walking distance of many attractions. Room size was very nice, but furniture and carpeting appeared old.

Is a nice small centrally located hotel. For Athens,is great, you are close to everything, the hill, the 2 plazas, lots of shopping streets and restaurants around.
Clean,but not 4 stars.
Maybe 2 1/2.
Good value for the price.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2010

We stayed here previously in 2006 and it was terrific. Unfortunately upkeep is not something thats been a strong point. We requested a larger superior double. While certainly not terrible, the room had a mild smoky stench coming from the carpet. The mattress on the bed definitely needed replacing, the in room safe did not operate, the shower curtain was not long enough to prevent water from flowing onto the floor, and the toilet seat was exceptionally flimsy for what is suppose to be a 4 star establishment. On the plus side, it's a great location for walking to Kolonaki, Plaka and also to the metro. The Staff are very attentive and helpful and the breakfast very fresh with a good selection. We may still go back but we're hoping a little refurbishment will take place first. At such a great charming location, it be a shame to lose prospective guests due to some simple attention to detail and a little re-investing!

The staff is most accommodating, courteous and helpful and the location is superb, especially for shopping in the Ermou and Kolonaki area. It's actually located on a pedestrian street, so taxi drivers cannot drop you off directly in front, some even do not know exactly where it is.

The room is not huge yet it is comfortable, but the bathroom is of generous size although the floor is constantly wet from an ineffective shower curtain. In addition, the corridor outside the room smelled badly. My fellow travellers were not satisfied by the breakfast or its serving times. Also, the lack of free wifi for such a hotel is a disappointment.

I must admit I expected more from a 4 star hotel. There are other hotels in central Athens offering the same price but better quality. I would not wish to use the particular hotel for anything other than a one-night stopover.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2010

This hotel is within 2 blocks of Syntagma Square, on a pedestrian street. There are several jumping cafes and restaurants in front of the hotel, so rooms on the front can be a bit noisy in the evening. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. The included breakfast is excellent. Rooms are reasonably priced, especially for a central location in Athens.
