Just returned from 2 weeks driving around the Peloponnese and what an amazing holiday it was and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is confident about their driving (As the Greeces drive like absolute nutters, especially on the motorways), so if you are a nervous driver it won't be for you. Started off in Athens and stayed for 3 days, but did not like where we were based in Omonia Square as it is very run down and a bit scary. You have to do Athens though, if only to see the ruins etc. but the nicest way to do it to avoid all the junkies and hookers (really) is to jump on the "citysightseeing" bus trip. It's an open top bus with 15 stops around the City and you can jump on and off as you like. It was 18 euros each, which seems a bit steep, but if we'd discovered this on our first day it would have been better as you then get the next day free aswell, which obviously works out better value. Definately do the Acropolis and the Pantheon, and get off at stop no. 7 and go on a cable car up Lybascus Hill (Amazing Banana Milkshakes) with oustanding views. The "Green" suggested walks takes you through lovely shops and restaurants and we went back one evening to KAPYATIS where the lamb stew was delish! Jason Prime was a nice hotel but the area spoils it and the staff were not very friendly like most other Greece's we have met. This is rated as 4 star, but the 3 star we stayed at at end of hols was far superior and area was better. Next review is Hotel Vasilis in Nafplion which had amazing views. Amazing is the word for this holiday!!!!!
