“Best place for authentic cheap food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

My title says it all. Its very European and not touristy. The food places are numerous, slightly sketchy-looking, but the food is amazing. There are a lot of Gypsies around, which is always creepy (and they will definitely bother you). There are nice old churches and ruins, and alone the back alleys and roads are craft shops, antique shops, and flea markets. There is something for everyone.

“The Most Fun Place !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

My friend and I spent a few days here shopping at all the eclectic stores, eating at amazzzing restaurants, and having some drinks. This place is RIGHT at the metro and is a great time. We met sooo many wonderful people here. Also, this place is busy every single day ~ not just weekends. And it is at the base of the Acropolis ~ only a 15 minute walk away. A MUST SEE !!!!! VERY FUN !!!!!!

“It is the starting point for several places.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

I probably would not go there if the the metro station was not the station to go to for the Agora, the Flea Market and a nice shopping area. There are a few stalls in the square where we bought a Kilo of nice strawberries for 1.90 euros, A lot of cafes in the area especially along the street, parallel to the railway line leading to the Agora.

“Greek Boot fair”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

We visited during Sunday morning when the Flea markets was at it height, the main flea market squire was fully of lovely furniture, but the rest around the surrounding streats were like a UK boot fair. It was interesting and full of junk and possiblily some treasures.

My suggestion is to go early starting at Monastrikaki metro and walk to Thiseio Metro, this way you will be able to get all the flea market, at the Thiseio Metro, there will be a arts and craft stalls all the way up to the Acropalis museum.

There are many cafes on the way to stop and rest. Try the street food of BBQ sweat corn, coconut logs or the ring bread they are yummie.
