“Great location, friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Spent 3 nights here on a city break. I thought the location was excellent, close to Acropolis and museum, metro 3 minute walk away and close to hop on hop off buses. The area is full of eating places and shops but the road the hotel is in is very very quiet.
Our room was clean but in need of a refurb. Air con was not very effective and fittings a little shabby. However they are busy redecorating but hadn't got to the floor we were staying on. When it has been completed it will no doubt look a lot nicer.
Wifi is free and works well in the bedrooms. Breakfast was typical of most European hotels and plentiful. Staff were friendly and helpful.

right next to a metro station, it is very quiet for its location. very clean, average breakfast, rooms are rather spacious and simple decorated, with descent Wi-Fi connection. they have tried to renew the rooms, but there is still work to be done. good choice for acropolis area

Room Tip: maybe upper floors have view to the acropolis

We stayed at Airotel Parthenon in Nov 2013. The hotel arranged for our Cab Ride from the Airport themselves and arranged the pick up service. The staff is extremely warm and courteous. The location is excellent. It is situated in a little side street and very close to the main Plaka area. Very quiet and charming street. The breakfast was quiet exhausting , even though it was the same everyday but the quality and quantity both were really good. We walked to all our destinations from the hotel as it is quite centrally located. The Rooms were quite spacious and we had a great view from a spacious balcony. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Try and choose a room on the upper level facing the street since it is a quiet street.

Hi, we stayed at this hotel for 8 nights while visiting Athens and several excursions. The hotel staff are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to accommodate guests. All were attentive and ready to please. The hotel itself is not up to date but still very acceptable considering the location and price. It was nice to have a balcony within the room to just stand and sit outside to feel the atmosphere. The bed was 2 single beds together covered with a foam mattress converting this into a king size bed. All was well with the room, but again it is not modern furnishings. A clock radio would have been nice for my North American standard. The walls are not soundproof, so you can expect to hear a few noises from the hallway. The Coffee and tea in the room was much appreciated. Most attractions were within short walking distances from 10 to 20 minutes away. The metro was 2-3 minutes around the corner. Restaurants were also very close. The popular Parka district for shopping and eating was also 2-3 minutes away.
Breakfast is included in the price which is a strong plus for choosing this hotel. The choices are extensive from cereals, toast, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, eggs, bacon, sausages, cakes, fruits, yogurts, jams, +++. Most of the items are excellent, but for the scrambled eggs and bacon which for the most part remain unused in the platter should be removed from the table. Most guests take little portions of these items for tasting and then continue with the other choices. It’s not a good sign when bowls containing the eggs and bacon do not need refilling throughout the breakfast. Enough said on the subject, either remove or improve the cooking of these items ( scrambled eggs are not watery and bacon is crisp - not like leather) .
The room was cleaned daily and toiletries were also replaced. The area was safe and relatively quiet for being so close to everything. Excursions were also planned and reserved for us by the front desk. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel for convenience and returned to the airport by metro which turned out to be simple and another good experience. Greatly appreciated our stay and can’t say enough good things about the staff and hotel. We would certainly return to this hotel for another stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 407 and were very pleased with the size and location.

Fantastic location, close to underground, lovely restaurants nearby. The staff go out of their way to help and are very friendly. Breakfast choices are great and would definitely stay here again. It is within walking distance to major attractions.

We are a group of 6 who stayed a total of 2 nights.

The first night we stayed there was on 9 April en route to Santorini. The weather was pretty cold and we weren't aware that there was supposed to be a thicker blanket in the cupboard (which our room doesn't have) so we were freezing in the room with the given thin layer of blanket cover on the bed.

The breakfast is quite a good spread for a small hotel. On the 2nd night we were there on 17 April, the hotel obliged to prepare the main breakfast spread for us by 5.30am as we had to leave for the ariport at 6.30am. This is much appreciated as we tried to ask for the same from a 5* hotel in Istanbul and it rejected our request.

The front desk lady (with short curls) is very helpful, patient, polite and professional. On our last night, she recommended Monh Monh restaurant for our dinner which is the best quality Greek meal we had in our 10 days in Greece + the cheapest (we each paid 13 euros). The other front desk staff are less helpful so we always seek her out.

Location is alright. It's a short walk to restaurants and the Hadrian's Arch. Plaka is about 10 - 15 mins walk away and Monastraki Square, where the liveliness of the town seems to be is a further walk after Plaka.

Would I stay there again? For the price, it's a good option. But if I'm prepared to pay more, I'd stay nearer to Monastraki or Plaka where the shopping and Acropolis is so I can cut down on walking 20 - 30 mins back to hotel.

Room Tip: level 5 has bigger balcony

The title says it all: First Class Staff, First Class Breakfast, First Class Location !!! :-)

The only improvements that could possibly have been:

1) Bedding - When I got into the room it looked to me as if there was no blanket/quilt and that the mattress was relatively thin (I don't know what the mattresses are like in other hotels in Athens). So I slept on top of the bed (as it was made) and only used the additional blanket to cover myself. The bedspread, over which I slept on, was quite rigid and when I work up in the morning I had a mildly sore back. On the subsequent nights, I slept under the bedspread (and blanket) and that made things okay.

2) Breakfast - first class in comparison with the majority of hotel breakfasts which I have had in the past. There was a large variety of typical continental food items including breads, cereals, cakes, Greek pastries, halwa, omelette, boiled eggs, mushrooms, meats, cheeses, hash browns, sautéed potatoes, jam, a lovely large bowl of Greek Yoghurt, a lovely large bowl of Greek Honey and other food items which I cannot recall at this time. There was a hot drinks machine with a decent selection. I particularly enjoyed the Greek pastries and the halwa. However, the breakfast would have been better and even more 'first class' had there been more dishes which were WARM/HOT and authentically Greek. For main dish, I was eating omelette with mushrooms every morning which got tiring.

3) View - I did not get any view of Acropolis from the hotel.

All in all, I really enjoyed the stayed and would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Athens.

Efkharistó for the memorable stay, Hotel Parthenon !!!
