“Perfect location, wonderful staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

My friend and I stayed here for two nights just to do some sight seeing. The hotel is perfectly located for the majority of the popular tourist culture spots ; the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympians, Plaka and subway are literally a few minutes walk. (There is also a small minimarket at the end of the road) The hotel is spotlessly clean and fresh, we had spacious, well equipped and comfortable rooms with small balconies and air conditioning. I would however suggest that ladies do take a hairdryer as those provided are ineffective. Breakfast was a buffet of hot and cold food with plenty of choice for most people. This hotel (like many Athens hotels) has no parking but you realky dont need a car unless you are going much further afield. The thing that makes this hotel stand out, however, are the amazing staff. They speak perfect English (and other languages) and we were always greeted with a genuine smile. They are knowledgeable and always very happy to help whatever you require. On the first night my friend took a tumble on one of the dreadful Athens pavements cutting herself quite badly. When we got back to the hotel she was tended to with such care and kindness and the team continually expressed concern for her welfare during the rest of our stay. We felt that the service and attention from the hotel team alone made this hotel stand out from others.

We traveled to Athens with another couple and had a wonderful time, partly due to this hotel. Before we booked this hotel we read all the reviews. Saw some that were quite negative, which gave us a concern but we felt there were many more that were positive, so we booked it. And we are so glad we did. We had asked before we left for a room for each of us on the 5th floor. We ended up with room 311 and 414 on the 3rd and 4th floor with a balcony. They were just fine so we kept them. Our room in 311 had the 2 beds pushed together and also a 3rd single bed. That was helpful to lay out our suitcases. Not fancy rooms, but all that is needed including a comfortable bed which was important to us. We used a white noise on our tablet which I recommend for sleeping. There is a dog that barks each night. We liked leaving the sliding glass door open at night, so the background noise completely salved that problem. The room was cleaned each day, towels changed each day, and sheets changed every few days. Tea was replenished each day, and such a good quality tea, we loved it. Breakfast was outstanding. What a lay out! A Greek side which included of course the fresh vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes. Lentils and chick peas were yummy, I had them each day, along with their delicious yogurt and honey and jam to sweeten it. Scrambled eggs which seemed to be on the runny side but I think it was because they may have been cooked with lots of olive oil. There were a couple pastries which were good, a nice fruit tray with several sliced fruits, I had the pears every day and they were delicious. Bacon was under done, but lots of it, and some little sausages that were good. Coffee and hot water for tea is there, however you can ask for a espresso or cap. That I had each morning and, it was really good. All the staff very helpful, but we always were there by 7:00 and sometimes by 8:00. I recommend that. I don't remember all their names, but Marie was very attentive to us, getting anything we needed, a really sweet girl. Everything is close by, the Plaka was right there and we walked there often. An inexpensive place to eat close by is called Smile! More for your money there and by time we left we felt like family with Zoe and her mom who took good care of us. Go there!!! You will like it. We used the Metro coming in, and it was fine, but crowded, a taxi for the 4 of us for 35 E would have been just as good a deal, compared to the 16 E each couple on the Metro. We found Athens clean, safe and English spoken everywhere. Over all, a wonderful stay and we would not hesitate recommending this hotel.

We were there for the Athens Marathon 2014. Optimal distance from the start and finish points (no need to take public transport, very convenient). Friendly personnel, good breakfast, clean rooms, free wifi. We are very pleased and probably will come back for the next marathon!

Great location to visit the Acropolis, Parthenon, and all the attractions in Athens, Greece. The hotel is in a safe location to walk at night and great places to eat in the evening after sightseeing. The hotel staff of Peter Despoino, Despma Velissarios, and Akis answered all our questions and were very helpful in making our stay in Athens a great one. Good shopping close by as well as a stop for the Hop On - Hop Off bus was only one block away. Hotel was clean and efficient. I would highly recommend the hotel for seeing the sights in Athens.

My first night in Athens was in the Airotel Parthenon. It isn't a fancy hotel with amazingly decorated rooms and extravagant bathrooms, but it is clean and quiet. In fact, it is opposite a five storey flat complex with elder people so it really was quite. Just 100 meters from the pedestrian street that leads you to Plaka and the Acropolis museum. To the right you get the main street by Hadrian's Arch that takes you to other parts of the city. Breakfast was amazing! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for the first night(s) in Athens.

We stayed here for my wife's 30th and as a gesture the management gave us the room with the roof terrace and view of the Parthenon. The views were fantastic and the staff couldn't do more to help us!

The room was cosy and felt fresh with modern furnishings, a comfy bed and a Tv which has a couple of English channels.
This particular room is a little different being on the roof and at the top of the stairs, and as such we could hear every foot step and conversation on the stairwell all night, which didn't help the sleep...If the other guests wanted to use the lifts, the motor room sounded like it was next to ours and would make a deep boom sound every time it was used.
We ended up placing the spare duvet over the door to drown out the footsteps.

Breakfast was good, there was a large buffet selection, one of the best I've seen on my travels in a 3 star!

Location, as already stated by others is pretty much perfect - everything if a short walk away and the Acropolis metro station is around the corner.

Overall we would certainly stay here again if in Athens and would recommend!

great location for the hotel a 10min stroll from the main Acropolis sites and museum. also close to the Plaka district fro shopping and gifts (good atmosphere here in the evening) a variety of restaurants close by for all budgets. Hotel was clean and efficient. staff were pleasant and helpful. don't expect a view from your room of the sites, but the location is quiet on a night. the hotel has easy access to the metro (and airport) and is a short walk to Syntagma Square for the trams. overall a very good choice for a city break to explore the historical sights
