My husband and I went to Athens on April 2004 and stayed at Arethusa Hotel. This hotel is simply the worst hotel we stayed during our trip to Europe. The room was dirty, the air-conditioning was not working, we've ordered a film through pay-per-view system but we could watch the film just after going dowstairs many times to complain the television was not working. Besides all these problems, the staff was very rude, even when they were trying to solve the television problem...
Don't stay there, it's terrible!!!!

Excellent location near Syndagma Square.
Foyer looks nice enough but the room was very not impressive
with a functional but old and poorly laid out bathroom.
Very reasonable continental breakfast and pleasant staff.

A slightly below average hotel but in a great location and reasonably priced. The rooms vary. Our room was not good, grease marked walls, a musty smell and weak plumbing. Our travelling companions had a slightly better room. The roof garden was locked up and looked unused.
