“Definitely worth a stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

It's a relatively not-so-well known secret in Athens. I agree with some reviewers that say they are neglected and the lack of tourist activity might unfortunately be the reason for it. But this neglect doesn't mean they are not something you should visit, still definitely worth a stop.

“Lovely peaceful area within the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

This is a perfect place to take a stroll away from the noice of the city without having to go outside Athens. It's very relaxing. There are lots of little paths and coves.

“Pretty, but neglected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

The National Garden located very centrally in Athens is a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, but looks neglected and the Botanical Museum in its grounds was closed. I was reading that there are plans to improve it. They should go ahead.

“Nice Park you should visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

In this Gardens you will find many rare plants and many animals. It is quite big so you will need time to visit it but it certainly be a pleasant walk as it is very nice. Especially during summer you will be very happy to walk through these gardens which will seem to you like an oasis!!!
If you enter from the Syntagma Square Garden you can walk till the Irodou Attikou Street, then walk to the Panathinaiko Stadium and then Zappeio.

“Peaceful park and great nearby Irodou Atikou Street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Before entering the National Garden, we took a walk from Panathinaiko Stadium up the hill on Irodou Atikou Street. It's a very nice area with beautiful houses, it looked like a residential, very quiet and well maintained. I really recommend a walk up this street. We entered the park on the Vassillis Sofias Street entrance and right at the entrance there was a pond with big and colorful Japanese Koi Fishes swimming in it. The park was peaceful and green, a good place if you want to take a break from the busy city.
