“Not bad but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

... come on, you are in Greece, there a million other better beaches to enjoy the sea and sun. O.k it's a solution for people who can't go further away for a good swim, but I strongly suggest to prefer beaches after Vouliagmeni.

Nice area , becoming the in place for a sunny aftrenoon. Many bars and restaurants to choose from although pricey. Its a wonderfull place to see and be seen , BUT it has a hude dissadvantage. MINIMUM PARKING space and HORRIBLE Traffic to get there

“Sandy beach at the feet of Athens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

Alimos is one of the nearest beaches to the big city. The long straight Syggros Avenue takes the busy Athenians from the Temple of Olympian Zeus (Stiles Olymbiou Dios) down the relax of a blue paradise.

“somewhere to avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2002

where to begin? if you have read the review here
from concierge com and also been to this beech you would probably question the guide!

entry to the beech is 3 euro .. taking your own cooler etc is forbiden ( to protect the monopoly of foods and drinks within) should you wish to sit down other than in the dirt 5 euro is charged for a bench and brolly up to three rows back...chairs are not included in the price of admisson.. infact very little is!

the guide states there is "fine sand" .. if a mix of gravel and soil is fine sand then it exisits....showers exist too should you find one that works.....toilets are akin to third world jobs so hold your nose on the way in!

shade is to be found under a few trees but mainly at the bars where a small drink is overpriced.. however dont be tempted to take your own drinks in as the rent a cops there will swiftly come to tell you off!!

a day at this beech is a great dissapointment and watching the management of this beech is a lesson in a maffia style monopolistic business venture ...which is a great pity... only a few years ago when managed by eot this beech was a happy place .. cheap to enter .. chairs , shade, and cold drinking water included in the price of entry...as a lover of greece i truely hope the privatisation of other greek ventures does not follow the same horrible route..
