We brought a group of 18 (12 students) to Greece at Hotel Attalos. We couldn't have asked for a better location. It was a couple blocks from the metro station, which goes straight from the airport to the stop at Monastiraki. It's also convenient to walk through Monastiraki Square, the Plaka, and to the acropolis.
We were on a budget and looking for a clean inexpensive hotel with a great location. This hotel served that purpose. Most of the hotel beds/pillows I've stayed at all over Europe are usually just mediocre (normally very firm beds and flat pillows). The beds at the Attalos were pretty standard. The street is loud so bring earplugs or ask for a back room. But the air conditioner muted some of that noise.
We chose not to eat breakfast there as they charged 8 euros per person. There is a coffee shop down the street that sells OJ and pastries for less.
The front desk was kind enough to book a dinner reservation for us one night too.
