My daughter and I traveled to Athens to visit a friend studying abroad. We decided to stay at this hotel based on a recommendation from Matt Barrett's website on Athens. The hotel was a perfect location for us. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see...the flea market on Sunday, Plaka shopping, the Acropolis, the central market, museums, good eats, etc. Also very close to the metro (though it was on strike 2 days out of 7!) The hotel did communicate this by posting signs in the lobby. They were also helpful for us finding a restaurant that we wanted to eat at in Gazi - Mamacas (excellent BTW).
We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the street. Once our balcony door was shut we never heard any street noise and slept great. Our room was very clean and comfortable. For the off season price of 70 Euros - it was a great bargain. We only stayed in our room to sleep! We spent our waking time - walking around the city or going on tours. We used the computers some- mostly to check out more things to do or see the weather forecast.... The hotel staff was friendly except for one person who was more attentive only when the owner walked by! The maids even organized some of the items we left laying around by bringing bags to store stuff in or containers for our make-up!! It was nice to be able to catch breakfast there too on a couple of days. The view from the rooftop was great. When we checked out - our bill was accurate though I see some people wrote theirs wasn't. I guess everyone has their own opinion but I would stay again. I would rather spend my money on tours, eating and shopping!
