“Location and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

The lady at the desk is extremely funny and gives you a warm welcome. Epic location in Plaka, the historic center where you must be if you want an authentic experience. The hotel is located next to an authentic restaurant and is located nearby all highlights. Athens is the most epic place ive been to, and this is a fitting accommodation. Basic room and breakfast, very friendly staff, dont ick a Hilton or Sheraton in Athens but a family owned hotel you have my word!

Amazing little Hotel in the heart of Athens and Plaka. You are practically in the center of Town. Only a few steps from Syntagma and Hard Rock café. Hotel is not luxurious, but normal, clean, with domestic atmosphere... If You do not have high standards, this is an excellent choice. Ideal for couples.

This Hotel was great for the money they demanded. It is an old-architecture building with the feeling of past Europe! The only thing that kept me from rating it with 5* was the strange smell of the room and the lack of meat and cheese on the breakfast! Also you cannot pay with a credit card and that kept me wandering the ATMs for cash!
Otherwise the hotel was in a quiet walk-street and relatively near the Sindagma Square! The people also were very helpful and friendly!

Room Tip: Take a room with a balcony! Bring your own ham & cheese for the breakfast!

Great location. Around corner from cafe lined streets of the Plaka. Easy walk to Acropolis yet very quiet. Exceedingly helpful front desk staff who when we left encouraged us to call if we needed help with any aspect or problem during our trip through the Peloponese. Nice breakfast served by kind staff. Rooms not luxurious but nice enough. Other reviews are correct, when they describe your grandmother's furniture a bit crowded into rooms. Our family of four stayed in a room with 4 beds. It was a large room with high decorative ceiling that someone had awkwardly divided into two rooms. 2 beds in each room (1 double bed and 1 twin in one room, 2 twins in the other room). The room needed to be painted, but overall I would happily stay here again for quiet, adequate rooms, in great location, with wonderful staff.

Although the Acropolis Hotel was at one time a single family dwelling, it is now a small downtown hotel. That accounts for the squeezed-in bathrooms and sort of odd shaped rooms etc. Who cares! Fantastic location, and really homey place. The furniture is not new but it is really clean. The place smell clean!
Jasmine at the front desk is absolutely lovely, funny and caring, She arranged all kinds of things for us, and hugged each of us when we left.
Includes a continental breakfast, nothing really special but great coffee and lots of bread, buns etc.
Highly recommend this little hotel - we felt like we were visiting our grandmothers home: clean but the furniture was from another time. For the price this hotel was very good value.

Room Tip: No elevators so if you have heavy bags ask for ground floor.

The hotel is in a really really good location in Plaka. You will be able to reach everywhere in Athens easily. Once you learned the streets, you will reach easily to metro stations also. The building was beautiful. The staff was very helpful, we enjoyed their advises very much. The rooms was clean and they were cleaned everyday also. But the bathroom was too small, it was the main problem for me. It was impossible to move in it.

My wife and I stayed her three nights and enjoyed the hotel a lot. Were on the top floor and the stairs up were easy to navigate with our luggage. The rooms was clean and nice, the bathroom a little small. However the value for the price and location was great. Andreas at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good but not spectacular, lots of breads and cereals and very good coffee, no meats or cheeses. The highlight of the stay was a restaurant (tavern) 20 meters down the street that Andreas recommended that had mostly locals eating there. We ate there all three nights and enoyed the food a lot, nothing fancy just good food and wine at a reasonable price. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had roonm 107 on the top floor which had a nice balcony with a partial view of hte acropolis.
