I was in Athens for a week of business in September 2012. The Amalia Hotel is located very conveniently both near the government buildings and the Acropolis (tourist site).
The stay was very pleasant and I have no complaint whatsoever. But what prompt me to write this review is the hotel staff's unparalleled service while I was there, and more importantly even after I had left:
In January 2013, 4 months after my stay at Amalia, I realised that I needed the hotel lounge receipts (3 of them) in order to have my claims processed by my company. The figure wasn't a lot, but money is money, so I emailed to the hotel, thinking there is very little chance that they would even care... after all I am not a VIP guest.
To my very pleasant surprise, Mr Nikos, the Asst. Hotel Manager promptly emailed me back scanned copies of the lounge receipts! No fuzz and no questions asked! If this is not great service, then I don't know what is.
