Overwhole price/quality ratio of this hotel is good. Nice and clean rooms. Good international breakfast buffet. Hotel is located in the center of the city at 200 mtrs from the central metro station Syntagma. Reaching the hotel from the airport you can take the metro and get out at this metrostation (Syntagma) which costs you 1,80 euro a ticket.
Try to get a map of the metro system: sometimes the signs in the metro display only the Greek names. Taxis from the airport to the center have a fixed price of 35 euro...

A good hotel, with excellent breakfasts. Room 605 was beautiful , junior suite on top floor with good views over the gardens. Definitely stay here again. Good position, walking distance to everything. Could see the changing of the guards at the Parliament. Definitely recomment.

Stayed at the Amalia Hotel from December 24 - December 31st. Here are the pros and cons.

PROS:

Centrally located and within walking distance to the major attractions
Knowledgeable front desk staff
Up the street from Bus X95
Chat Tours starting point / pick up (ie: Day trip to Delphi, 3 island cruise, etc.)
Good selection for breakfast (hot and cold)
Clean
Reasonably priced.

CONS:

Can't think of any.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very good hotel to the centre of Athens, clean and beautifull rooms, we payed 90 euros per night, I believe that this hotel offers more for this price. The service friendly, there is cafe on hotel to enjoy 24 hours on the day your coffee or your drink

We have enjoyed this hotel several times. Their breakfast is nice, a bit simple, but nice, and their service is quite good. The location is excellent, so paying a bit more is worth the expense, as no taxis are needed. The hotel is located across the street from the National Gardens, then further across is Parliament, where there is the hourly "Changing of the Guard," a sight not to be missed. The Plaka and Monistaraki, is just a few blocks to the back of the hotel. It sits to the side of a major shopping area Ermou Street. Should you be driving a car, needing to find a parking garage, there is one very near the hotel, about 1/2 block away, so very convenient, and not expensive.

Room Tip: For those in wheelchairs, the hotel has elevators.
