As everyone else has said, the location is great. If arriving by metro, take the metro to Akropoli and walk along the street just south of the new Acropolis museum, Chatzichristou, bearing left once you've passed the museum onto Kavilioti - this will bring you very soon to just above the hotel. It's quite a quiet area - we weren't at all disturbed by street noise despite being at the front. But we were disturbed by hotel noise - the door to the room provided very bad sound insulation, and we were repeatedly woken up by people returning late at night and having long conversations. I think we were in the not-refurbished part of the hotel, but the room was perfectly clean and nice and had a balcony from which you could see the Acropolis... just the noise was rather annoying. Breakfast was included and was ok, but far from spectacular - the orange juice was actually orange squash, and the coffee was nescafe. We had free wifi in the room which is always appreciated. Drinks in the hotel incredibly expensive compared to outside the hotel, but that's only to be expected I suppose.

Room Tip: Poor sound insulation, on one side anyway.

The best about this hotel is its location south of the Akropolis. The neighbourhood is more cozy and quiet than the bustling Syntagma square area, and yet it is at a short walking distance from main attractions such as the Akropolis and the new Akropolis Museum. Even the Plaka and Monastiraki shopping/market area can be reached in a scenic 20 minute walk around the Akropolis. Public transport is not far away and there are nice restaurants in the area.
The hotel itself is of good standard with up to date rooms, reasonable size with a nice little balcony although the bathroom is relatively small. Breakfast is OK, service is friendly and helpful, and the WiFi system works well.

Room Tip: The hotel is hemmed in between other buildings but on higher floors there are better views of the ne...

I was a bit nervous to stay here after reading some other reviews and looking at some of the posted photos, but my fears were unfounded. First, the hotel is in an amazing location. It is a short walk to almost any of the tourist sites, including the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Plaka, and others. We were able to easily walk to everything. The location alone makes this a hotel to strongly consider for a vacation to Athens. Second, our room was very nice and clearly renovated from the photos I saw from other travellers. It had hardwood floors, a wall-mounted flat screen tv, a small refrigerator, a great bathroom, and plush bedding. We slept very well. Third, the hotel staff was very helpful with our many questions and requests. I had only two issues during our stay. First, either I was next to someone who liked to listen to German tv very loudly and long into the night, or the walls are very thin. The street noise never bothered me, but the tv next door did. Second, the shower/tub enclosure is not adequate (as I believe another reviewer mentioned). It's almost impossible not to get the bathroom floor very wet while showering, even if you are trying to be really careful. Of course, that's what extra bathroom towels are made for, but it is a bit annoying. All in all, I would absolutely consider staying here again, but I'd bring earplugs just in case my room is next to a tv fanatic again.

Room Tip: Because it sounds like not all rooms have been renovated yet, make certain that you get one that has...

We arrived here early in the morning from the sirport for a quick trip to the Acropolis and the museum before heading on to Turkey the following day. The location really is good and we walked to the Acroplis. We must have gotten an unrenovated room (I read some of the reviews below) as the mattresses were thin, carpet was tired, and the "Acropolis view" was leaning wayyyyy out over the concrete balcony and looking up the rather noisy street. The lobby is very impressive and I get the feeling that this is a hotel for conferences and large tour groups. It met our needs but I don't think I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a renovated room away from the street side.

After an issue with our room which was to have a view but overlooked a street, we were quickly moved to a lovely balcony room looking toward the city of Athens. Room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great particularly the lovely yoghurt.
The hotel was extremely well situated with only a short walk to New Acropolis Museum and Plaka. Also convenient for the hop on hop off bus which is a must when visiting Athens for the first time.
We would definitely stay again!
