Stayed at Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre 2 nights. Restaurant empty apart from me one evening. Food was actually quite good!
Breakfast vastly overpriced....€27 for below average precooked buffet. Had to stare pleadingly for any coffee from two chattering waitresses...there was only one other guest at breakfast! When coffee arrived, I was given a pour from a pot (which spilled everywhere) and then the pot was removed! Appallingly mean-spirited behaviour.
Mini-bar prices appallingly high...€13 for a whiskey which I didn't take advantage of. €5 for a small coke!! €7.50 for a large Heineken in the bar below was best value but no ambiance as no guests!
Roof pool restaurant which was described as offering panoramic views of surrounding vista closed. Trying to take lift to 7th floor prevented. So, no pool availability either!
On the plus side, very nice room with some of the most sophisticated door electronic systems I have come across. TV offering very good but mean internet access (€11 for 1 hour access) or €32 for all pay tv plus 24h internet access (v. high speed 3.2mB benchmarked with speedtest.net) which seemed better value. I would stay here again, but only when pool is opened!
