My husband, mother, best friend and I traveled to Greece on a budget but wanted a nice, comfortable and clean place to stay and that is exactly what we got.
Our check in was fast and efficent. The concierges were friendly and accomodating. The housekeeping staff was excellent and our room was clean everyday with lots of fresh towels and such, and they even folded our clothes that we left laying on the floor and beds. At the end of our stay the front desk men took it upon theirselves to offer us rides to the airport for safe and efficent transportation.
The location was at the foot of the Acropolis and our balcony gave us a nice side view of the Parthenon. Absolutely striking, especially at night. The coffee was exceptional. The bedrooms were completely fabulous, as if we were surrounded by an aura of beudussiness. The beds were of restful quality, not a Beautyrest but a good nights sleep. The continental breakfast was phenomenal, with a huge assortment of peaches, sour cream, cheese, breads, sliced meat, olives, sweetcakes, cereal, eggs, dates, and more.
This was our first trip to Europe and I had the most wonderful experience. I am so happy that we made the right choice of Hotels. It made it that much more enjoyable.
It wasn't the Hilton, however they treated you like you were at the Hilton, and the food and room quality was 5 star.

  • Liked — Staff, Cleanliness, Food, Location
  • Disliked — .........
  • Tips/Secrets: — Close to every attraction and point of interest. There's a great little mom and pop resturant around the corner that a woman owns, she makes all her own dishes and has them in pots for all to see. Next to that is a fresh veggie stand that has the best tasting non-pesticide poisoned fruit EVER!!!

This Hotel had excellent location with just minutes walk to the Acropolis. The rooms were clean and nice with a small veranda, nothing special. The people were nice and helpful and there was free internet acess down near the lobby. We only stayed for a few nights but it was a great stay!

My husband and I stayed for two nights prior to leaving on a 2-week yachting adventure with Poseidon Charters. This is a small, clean hotel in a great location in Athens. We simply wanted a place to sleep, rest during the day and store our stuff, so it was great. The single beds are hard and the rooms are small, but it is what we expected so we were happy. We chose our "destination" hotel in Santorini where we planned to spend time by the pool and enjoying the view.

Hotel Philippos has a great location. It's the small brother of the herodion hotel. The hotel has not so maby rooms, most of the rooms are quite small, but they have also larger rooms for bigger families. The larger rooms have all a very big balconny. Breakfast is rather poor, but that's not the most important thing for a hotel. If you are looking for a place in a nice neighbourhood and you can't afford a four star hotel, this hotel is a good alternative.

Room 13'x10', beds were two small separate singles, shower, adjustable air conditioning/heating (although no off button), room safe, fridge, hairdryer. No alarm clock. Good sized lifts.

Hotel presents fairly well from the street but the room reminded me of a cheap motel in a small town. There was no ventilation in the bathroom - unpleasant enough but made worse by the foul smell coming from the drain in the floor of the bathroom - we had to keep the door closed to get some sleep. Breakfast was very poor with the coffee that bad it was undrinkable (worst of our whole European trip).
