“Good. But a bit expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Stayed there for 4 nights. Location is ok. Had suite. Imho a bit overpriced.
Pool on the roof is excellent.
General impression about hotel - ok but could be luxury for this money.
Quite noisy all the night due to traffic below hotel.

Not expensive.

helpful staff was probably the most positive side.

breakfast was ok. double bed is two single bed combined...Internet requires extra charge.

not close to subway. a few supermarket around though.

We stayed here several nights on a recent tour of Greece. It is located on a very busy street. The lobby was nice and the rooms were good, but a little dated. The bathroom was also clean. There is a grocery store almost directly across the street. Found a nice place for lunch up the street about a 100 yds. Cold beer and good souvlaki. Also found a really good german restaurant. There's a park across the road and down the street about 100 yds. It was located along with several other restaurants in the park area. I had stuffed Snitzel and it was fabulous. This hotel is a little out of the way of the main tourist attractions, There is a underground stop a few blocks away.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is not next to the street. I heard several people complaining about street noise...

Swimming pool at the top of the property is great for relaxation after all day sightseeing. There is aso a small bar where you can enyoj nice view from the terrace. Drinks at the hotel (as well as in other tourist areas in Athens) seems overpriced (4 EUR for cup of coffee).
Staff at the hotel was kind and helpful. Room was pretty small, but clean.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in late April. I was in Athens for a business trip and the family tagged along. We had stayed at Zafolia on several previous occasions and were always very satisfied. It is a family-run establishment and they ensure that quality and standards are kept high. The rooms and common areas are spotless. The staff are super friendly and always welcome us in a way that we feel special and a part of "their family". The breakfast buffet is great, offering a variety of eggs, bacon, sausages, yoghurts (I preferred the thickest one - strained), cakes, juices and fruit.

On this trip we got a "family" suite, essentially two twin rooms with an adjoining area behind a common door. These gave the family much room to spread out and a TV per kid (always a bonus). I will definitely stay there again, and hope that the next time internet can be offered complimentary, at least in the lobby area, which is what more and more hotels in Europe and large US metro areas are doing nowadays.

All in all a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Typically we have stayed in corner rooms, e.g. 404/5 or 504/5 and these have bee very quiet, as they...

We were booked at Zafolia through a Globus tour. The location is a little distant from the heart of the city, but it is on a busy bus route and within moderate walking distance of the Metro. There is nearby shopping. The hotel is designed for tour groups. The food for groups was plentiful and of good quality. Their is also a regular restaurant for individuals. Rooms and beds were small by North American standards, but comfortable. Staff was quite helpful. English is spoken throughout Greece and especially at hotels. There is a small swimming pool and bar with a nice view on the top floor; however, we didn't use the pool.

Room Tip: We were assigned both front and rear rooms and had no difficulty with street noise, but a back room...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2012

Stayed the week commencing the 9th January for two nights on business. Overall this is a good city centre hotel in a fair location. It is near a underground station as well (10 mins walk). My room was clean and comfortable. Note street facing rooms are quite noisy (reception warned me about this and did give me the choice of a room at the back of the hotel). Staff are friendly and helpful. Only negative is that guests smoke in the reception/lobby area. I think this hotel is good value for money and I will stay here again next time I am in Athens.

Room Tip: If you like quiet, ask for a room at the back of the hotel
