I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return on my next trip to Athens.

I had the pleasure to stay at Hotel Herodion with my boyfriend over the Christmas vacation for a week. The hotel lived up to its promise of offering the best views of the Parthenon from a hotel in all of Athens, which I enjoyed from both the rooftop terrace as well as the balcony in my room. Although it was too cold for me to use the rooftop hot tubs, I look forward to returning sometime in the summer to savour the experience. One of my favourite features of the hotel is the dining area, which has an indoor outdoor feel with a beautiful tree in the middle that extends out from indoors and plants that surround the glass-extension like room. Perfect for enjoying a coffee to start the day.

The location could not be better for visiting the ancient site of the Acropolis and Plaka, the old historical neighbourhood of Athens—a mere stone’s throw away. There is also a metro station nearby, and taxis are also a very cheap and easy way of getting around. Each time I requested a taxi from reception it arrived within minutes.

I have no complaints about the rooms or the service, which were carefully maintained and staff were consistently attentive and welcoming. The hotel is a family-run business, delivering the type of special care that one can expect over the more impersonal hotel chains.

The location can't be beat, right next to Acropolis Museum, Acropolis, shopping, subway etc. Rooms are a bit Spartan (pun intended). Internet was a bit slow (mine was included), but I didn't go to Athens to spend time on Internet, View from the top floor was incredible (see pictures). Would use it again. By the way, don't believe all the stuff you see on the news about riots etc., Athens are an incredible and safe place to visit: I have spent there a week and saw one small demonstration when I went to see Change of Guards near the Parliament.

The hotel was very decent and the staff took good care of us. The walls were a bit thin so that we could hear the alarm that the people in the room next to us put. If you are sensitive to noises, bring your earplugs. Room service was free of fee so that was nice.
The Jacuzzi cost us 5 euros for 15 mins of use and has a nice view of the Acropolis.
Their buffet breakfast is amazing and, even though I like to sleep in, I would get up just to have it.

The only downside was the internet. As we had the winter offer, it was free for us but I think it is about 10 euros for 24 hours. I would definitely not buy it if it is not in the package ! It took me 3 hours to check facebook, gmail and hotmail because it kept on cutting before giving me the chance to log in. A nightmare. I am the kind of person to check the internet 15mins per day but this was highly frustrating.

The location was amazing too ! I would recommend this hotel but maybe not to young people who plan their trip as they go, as the internet would not be available for them.

Stayed in the Herodion Hotel for 3 days. A well cared and maintained hotel with lots of personal touches. Upon arrival the staff was most helpful in accomodating us in our room.
The reception areas were very tastefully decorated and clean and so was our room.
Breakfast was very good and the service by the friendly staff was excellent.

I have visited Athens in many occasions and have stayed in various hotels ranging from cheaper ones to the most expensive. I must say that the Herodion can easily boast that it has the closest and most impressive views of the Parthenon. On a summer's night sitting on the roof terrace sipping my favourite drink I feel that I can reach out and touch the ancient monument!! Wow
The terrace also has a jacuzzi which was relatively recently added to its features.
Last but not least this hotel's location is excellent, being beside the new Acropolis Museum and a stone's throw away from the metro station, and the pedestrianised streets leading to Plaka .
