“Ate here twice in one day.. Hard to beat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

This is probably the best restaurant I have eaten in for two weeks. Excellent food and pleasant service. Recommended to us by Donna at the Acropolis Museum Hotel. Everything we ate we enjoyed .... Chicken gyros pie, spinach pie, roast lamb... And also excellent value.

“Great grill food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Small, very friendly restaurant located just beside Sygrou Fix metro station. Could eat either inside or outside. Would recommend outside to see the world go by! Fantastic saganaki [local cheese starter] and probably best chicken gyros I have had in Athens. Service fast, efficient and with a smile. Inexpensive, great value.

“Our favorite taverna !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Ambrosia was recommanded by our hotel, Marble house. We ate just like princesses there ! All was excellent, the souvlaki (chicken), the pastitsio, greens peas, green beens, eggplants with tomato sauce. Family kitchen, very tasty. Already the second evening we were almost considered as member of the family and so warmly welcomed and treated....Lovely team ! thank you Greeks we love you !

“Great Value and Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We stopped here as it was close to our hotel, late on our first night. What a super find. We noticed that it was busy and would probably be good. We were correct. There was a steady procession of locals popping for carry-outs. The staff were very friendly and helped us with advice on the menu. The portions were large. The prices for both food and drinks were very reasonable. The food was served quickly and efficiently but we were never hurried to leave after finishing. The quality of the food was good and portions were large. It is well worth a visit. We visited it on another night and found the same standard of service. Lots of locals eat in here too.....a good sign.

“Delicious, yummy, Traditional Greek food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local for a take away souvlaki. The food was tasty, and always cooked to perfection. We bought food from this shop every day of our 3 week stay. My 14 year old son, who has to be the fussiest person on earth when it comes to food, absolutely loved the food here. He didn't want to eat anywhere else the whole time we were in Athens! We mainly bought takeaway, but did dine in several times and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is not very fancy but the food is to die for. By the third visit the young man in the take away area of the shop knew how we liked our souvlaki. He'd always put a little extra chicken in for my son. There are more tourists than locals eating here but the take away is mainly the locals. Overall a great, reasonably priced place, to fill your tummy.
