We had dinner at Mono without reservations on a Friday evening. The restaurant is a hip little place in plaka. They play an eclectic playlist of jazz inspired hits and covers. Very cool.
The reason to visit though is the food. We tried the goat cheese appetizer, the lamb, and the seared tuna. All were delectable. In fact, I would expect to pay nearly double the price for the quality of taste and preparation in other metropolitan centers. Our hostess was very knowledgable about wine pairings once we had selected our entrees.
The only aspect of our visit that could have been improved was the service. The restaurant got busy pretty fast and the wait staff had trouble just keeping up with the new arrivals. We were left to wait for quite some time.
The bill offered a small but noticable surprise when we were charged for bottled water and bread without having been given a choice to decline these items.
Nevertheless, we recommend mono for its excellent food and value.
