My small children children and I travel exstensively throughout Europe and we found the Ledra Marriott Hotel in Athens to be an excellent hotel. The hotel room was large and comfortable. The rooms are solid so the kids can go bizerk and jump on the beds with no complaints from your neighbors. When you reserve your room, request an Acropolis view. The view from the balcony was great especially at night. Also try to get a rate for this hotel that includes breakfast, the breakfast buffet is great but very expensive if not reserved in your hotel rate. The two restaraunts in the hotel for dinner are very expensive and we found ordering room service was the cheapest way to eat at the hotel. The hotel has a outdoor pool on the roof with great views of the city as well. The hotel has a courtesy shuttle bus to the Main Square in Athens and picks you back up near the Hard Rock Cafe in the same area (the big shopping flea market is only a short walk from this drop off point). You can arrange for a Grayline tour bus to pick you up directly from the hotel for a Athens City Tour for no additional fee to your tour trip. The only down side to this great hotel is its location. If you have kids or any health problems you can forget walking to any tourist area/shopping/or any variety of restaraunts from the hotel, it is just simply to far away. You have to take a cab or the shuttle bus. The best thing about this hotel is its friendly and very helpful staff. The hotel staff and the Greek people have made a wonderful impression on us and we will definitely return :)
