“Hits and Misses ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Let's start with the pros: location is great 5 min walk from city central. The bed was nice and firm. The temp gets nice and cold. Good Water pressure in the Shower, clean no mold; water gets nice and hot. Clean drain holes. House keeping was great. Now for the cons: there was really only one, the customer service Or lack there of from the reservation dept. not sure how but we were double booked. Thus, we had two rooms reserved. Expedia agreed to not charge us the one night cancelation fee, yet the reservation's manager insisted on arguing with my husband for 10 mins by phone at the front desk. He eventually agreed to deduct the cost of the last night. This was the last of 4 hotels on our anniversary trip to Greece. We were blown away by the customer service until we arrived at The New Hotel: management: this is one of those times when "the customer is always right" should have prevailed.

When we debarked from our cruise in Athens, we were able to check into our hotel room at 10am. Unfortunately, we wished they would have waited instead of checking us into the open handicap room. The problem was the bathroom was not well suited. The sink hit between our thighs and our knees causing us to have to significantly bend down. The toilet had a large gap at the front that made it difficult for females to use. Also, the shower water ran all over the floor. Finally there was not a hair dryer in the room.

The service was rather lacking. We asked about a restaurant where our friends were eating dinner, and the front desk's response was "never heard of it", not "Let me look it up for you". When asked for a recommendation for a close restaurant with good views, we were recommended a restaurant a 25 minute walk away. It took three attempts to get a proper recommendation, and when walking to find it, we couldn't but just kept walking to the Plaka and found one on our own.

Finally, the room was hot and the wifi was slow.

Like the other reviews say, it is modern and trendy, but it was clear they were overwhelmed by a full house.

As it's name suggests, it's a new and trendy hotel. On entering the lobby you are immediately confronted with an entire wall adorned with parts of cabinets, picture frames and table legs. This give you an idea of what's in store for the rest if your stay.
The entire hotel is very stylish and modern. Which we enjoyed, but if you were looking for something more homely, this might not suit.
The staff, were both friendly and efficient.
The bar upstairs offers a view of the Acropolis, but only from part of the decking, so try and get a seat on the south side of it if you can.
The restaurant is very tasty, although slightly on the expensive side.
Overall, an enjoyable stay, in a well located, modern hotel.

First time to Athens and stayed at this hotel due to Trip Advisor's recommendation.
The staff was on point from the minute we walked in. Very accommodating and service oriented. Room was small but well appointed and clean. Design was awesome- very unique. Roof top bar was open but could not sit outside due to deck treatment. Food was awesome both for breakfast as well as tapas in the evening.
Great location and close to the Acropolis. Would come again in a heartbeat if ever visiting Athens.
They even packed us a breakfast when we had to check out early (before the restaurant opened) to catch a ferry to Mykonos! Thank you again, New Hotel!

Nice hotel with great location. Service is good. Breakfast is nice. Nothing to complain about except the room is a bit small and the design of bathroom may make the floor get wet a bit easily after shower. Will definitely recommend to my friends!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the New Hotel in Athens during the first week of April, 2015. We loved the hotel, which is stylish and very well located. We were able to walk not only to the Acropolis, the Plaka and Kolonaki, but also to other fun neighborhoods like Keramikos and Gazi. We arrived at noon and learned we could have lunch at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, which has a wrap-around terrace that allowed us to eat outdoors with spectacular views of Lycabettus Hill (in one direction) and the Acropolis (in the other). The food was terrific – so we decided to eat dinner there that evening. The meal was superb but people at adjacent tables were smoking even though we ate indoors. When I asked the waitress about this, she explained that in the evening the restaurant converts to a cigar bar (which allows smoking) and informed us we could have eaten at the hotel’s other restaurant (same food), which does not permit smoking. In fact, we did eat there on our last night in Athens but there is no comparison in the ambiance of the two restaurants. The ‘’non-smoking’’ restaurant, though stylish, is on the ground floor and lacks the glamour and beauty of the rooftop restaurant with its sweeping views of Athens lit up at night. This, however, was the only negative in what was otherwise a wonderful experience at the New Hotel. The staff at the desk could not have been nicer and more attentive. If and when we return to Athens, we will definitely stay there.
