I stayed in the Hilton Athens hotels for 3 nights at the end of March 2006. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and everything you would expect from a hotel in the Hilton international range. The rooms are spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and offer wonderful views of the city. The view as you step out of the lift to enter the galaxy bar just at sunset is breathtaking. I recommend you sip on a champagne cocktail and look on over to the sun setting on the acropolis. The hotel has a large swimming pool and sun lounger area and the restaurants offers a good choice of foods. Athens itself is amazing with plenty to see and I would especially recommend to anyone thinking of a long weekend destination. If you get the chance there is a gorgeous restaurant overlooking the city on Likavittos Hill (the highest point in Athens) and well worth a visit.

We stayed here for two nights with our children (we had two rooms which connected). We didn't arrive until 11 p.m. but were met with such a friendly staff you would have thought it was first thing in the a.m. We stayed on the executive floor (ask for it if you are a HHonors member-it is well worth it!). The breakfast served in the executive lounge was wonderful, something for everyone! The rooms were great-well designed and the bed was comfortable (unusual for a european hotel). We did not have any trouble with noise, etc. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to the airport (convenient) The hotel does have internet access but there is a charge. Also the pool area (although we did swim with the kids) is in a spa and not exactly set up for kids (it looks great in the photo) They make you wear swim caps and booties! Also the hotel is not in the middle of the activity so if you are looking to be close to everything-this is not the place (however I hear they had a free shuttle). We like to be removed from the busy downtown so it was perfect, plus we had a driver for our stay (which was worth every dime! (google: George the famous taxi driver-we had his son Dennis-he made the trip for us!)
Overall the hilton was one of the nicest Hiltons we have ever stayed at and a good value! We also stayed at the Grand Bretagne for 1 night and were much more comfortable at the Hilton!

The Hilton was a clean, modern, stylish, efficient hotel. It is located centrally in Athens, and we could see the Acropolis from our room. Once the Athens one-way system had been deciphered to reach the hotel, valet parking was on offer.

The highlight of our stay was probably the galaxy bar on the top floor of the hotel. The ambience and view were amazing. Food was fine, though pricey for what it was.

The only negative point was that the Hilton really wasn't very Greek at all - it could have been in any city of the world. But of course some people like that in a hotel, don't they?

Rooms as described earlier- one of the most luxurious bathrooms I've ever encountered in a European hotel. Loved the giant bathtub! We were on an Award stay and got an Executive Floor room but no Parthenon view. Still a spectacular room.

Executive Lounge had great breakfasts but the evening hors d'oeuvre selections were not as plentiful as the ones in the Hilton lounges in Prague and Budapest, weher you could practically skip dinner after munching hors d'ouevres. The ones served in Athens were more imaginative, though- prosciutto and arugula wrapped around breadsticks, and seared tuna in a peppercorn crust, for example.

Two minuses: broadband access a ripoff (23 Euros per day, typical of Hilton) and we actually preferred the bustle of the Monastiraki area to the quiet of Hilton's Embassy Row location. Given the great Metro, that wasn't a huge drawback- easy to get around.
