“Reconstructed Stoa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

This is a fabulous reconstruction. Which now has a collection of sculpture and some models of the Agora as it must have been at its apex.

“A reconstruction of an Ancient Greek building.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

This is how you can appreciate Ancient Greek buildings, the scale and proportions are magnificent, and it has an interesting museum. In the gardens are extensive ruins, but ruins are ruins they don't give you the scale of the building as this does!

“Very well kept”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

An absolute must for any visit to the agora, but especially if you're a history person. Excellently maintained rebuilt stoa and a wonderful museum inside with some wonderful archeological artefacts on show.

“Best part of the Agors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Enjoyed walking through the museum which gave good explanations. The roof kept the burning sun off my head and shoulders in the August heat.

“Extend your shopping adventure in the tourist area of the city center of Athens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Visiting Stoa of Attalos is best with a guide, if you're interested in the history of the site. There are quite a few groups organized by private travel agents as well as public ones (free of charge, or very cheap) organized by the City of Athens.

Reaching the site is easier if you use public transportation (Thisseio Metro Station). Some of the ancient ruins of houses, of the Agora etc. that surround Stoa of Attalos were unveiled by the American School of Archaeology in Athens. The area was the heart of ancient city of Athens.

My advice is take a refreshment with you and try to avoid the very hot summer days if you can, as it gets quite hot and there are no shops inside the archaeological site itself.
