We visited both the Benaki Museum and the Benaki Annexe in November 2012. The main museum was a great experience as it displays costumes, 19th century paintings of Greece, Byzantine church icons and has a floor on the history of the Greek Uprising, including Byron's desk and other ephemera, as well as the archeological statuary and pottery. It is opposite the public gardens, Roman Baths and Zappio. Useful to get away from the traffic by walking through the gardens.
