“A place to unwind”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

A perfect, quiet afternoon away from the bustle of downtown Athens. We got there by subway and a city bus in under an hour and spent a few hours relaxing in and around the lake. One surprise was that the lake has "toe nibbling" fish (the kind that nibble at the dead skin around your feet) that in the city you might pay more than the 8 Euros it costs to get into Lake Vouliagmeni. One downer was that the food was both terrible and expensive so I would suggests bringing your own snacks.

“A hidden gem near Athens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

This lovely geothermal lake lies in the South coast of Greece. You pay an entrance fee of 8 euro (adult) and you can swim in lovely warm temperatures or if you like relax on the many loungers/tables and chairs available with parasols. There are fantastic changing facilities and showers and free supplies of water with ice. You can order food and drinks and have them brought to your lounger/table or you can sit in the cafe/bar area. (Beer prices start at 5 euro). If staying in the centre of Athens get the metro to the end of the red line to Elliniko then get the E22 bus outside (the E22 used to go through Athens but no longer does) which stops outside the Lake. My husband and I went there to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and had a lovely peaceful time. I thoroughly recommend it.

“relaxing day to the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Wonderful place, easy to reach from Athens, quiet, relaxing and very very clean. If you want to enjoy the perfect day swiming, that`s the place for it! There is an entrance fee of 8 euros, but the pool beds and umbrellas or table and chairs are included. The food and coffe was good, maybe a bit expensive comparing with city`s prices. But is totally worth it. The athmosphere is very relaxing and the stuff friendly and helpful. Perfect escape !
Also there is a weelchair lift for accessing the lake.

“Lovely quiet lake with added benefits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

The mineral waters were a bonus.
It was a nice break from the crowded beaches.
Stone canyon walls reminded us of the canyon lakes east of Phoenix.

“Stunning and peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We spent a few hours out at Lake Vouliagmeni while in Athens. It's well worth the trip, beautiful location, views and crystal water to swim in. A lovely break from the heat of the city.
