“Small Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2011

Stayed for 2Nights,nice clean trendy hotel with modern decor.Spacious room with a small kitchenette.Hotel staff were very helpful and very friendly.Mr Andreas gave us useful information and Alexander helped us with the tickets.

Delicious breakfast including pastries with ham and cheese stuffings.Best hotel breakfast we had during our holiday.Metro is cheap and is only 8 euros per person from the airport to the city and 14 euros per group of 2 pax.Get off at Ambelkopi station and take the public bus or a cab from there.( cab will only cost 4 euros)
35 euros from airport to city during day hours in the night 50.
Only drawbacks are area is rundown and Victoria station which is nearest is closed for construction.

Hotel is clean and well maintain. Hotel bar is cosy, never too crowded. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay with this hotel again if we visit Athens again in the future.

It is clean, well furnished, and fashionable. The breakfast is great, the staff is helpful, polite, and sincere. It does not have a restaurant so if you come back late at night you might have to walk to the Park hotel a few blocks away for dinner. For around this price, it is hard to find a hotel as decent and as new. When I was there the metro was stopped for remodeling, but there's a bus line in front of the hotel to other area, so you can still get around.

It is in a quiet residential area side street, formerly it seems to be a residential building.

The journey was a blur, suffice to say there were no mishaps, we found ourselves reunited with our luggage and blinking in a warm muggy bright but cloudy day outside the terminal in Athens. We caught the train into Athens, 10 Euros for the two of us. A gypsy man walked along the carriages playing an accordion, whilst a girl of about 6 years collected from the passengers. We had absolutely no change, so I promised myself, that I would have some when we returned homeward in a week.
It train was virtually empty as we set off, but as it neared the centre it began to fill up, we were surrounded by our luggage and then by people who insisted on sitting right atop of us.
I knew that the Victoria Metro Station which was the nearest station to our hotel, was shut for repairs, and so we had to get off at Omonea Square and get a taxi to the hotel. Our hotel is the Areos Hotel, Bouboulinas, near to the Archaeological Museum and University, sounded nice!
The taxi driver dropped us off at what we thought was the hotel and turned out to be the police Station, on Bouboulinas, we were 400 yards short, not far but a pain over the uneven marble flag stones dragging a 24 kilo suitcase and carrying a rucksack
We arrive at Aeros Hotel and are impressed by the standard of decoration and cleanliness, the receptionist ‘Alex’ was very helpful and we were soon in our lovely room, which had a huge balcony with a view over to a park to our left and up to a land mark church on a hill on our right (Ag Georgios at Lykavittos). We were surrounded at ground level with the rumble of traffic and the occasional hooting of car horns. Well this is Athens!
The room and bathroom were spacious, the bathroom had a capacious walk in shower with a huge rainfall shower head, and we were well suited, having been so disappointed with hotels in the past.
After freshening up we went out for a meal at a restaurant, a ten minute walk away, called Alexandra’s, we shared two meals of the day, spinach and cheese pie, and lamb burgers, with salad, chips and house wine, it was very affordable.
The area where the hotel is situated does look more than a little run down, with some very dubious characters roaming around, who look eastern European, and drunk, well there’s a surprise!
We awake for breakfast and join the hotel guests in the small but completely adequate dining room. I am suitably impressed with the array of food on offer. Now normally I would have cereal or toast for breakfast, but where food is laid on in this manner, I can’t help myself, I just eat until ready to explode, so I have the first of seven fried breakfasts(through the week), followed by yoghurt honey and nuts, followed by coffee and cake! I know I shouldn’t, but I am on holiday! (I end up half a stone heavier by the end of the week!)
The hotel has free internet access, with a small computer in reception.
We aren’t all that far from Athens city centre, and you can’t really get lost, as we are virtually on the one main road that takes you into the touristy area, called Plaka which is below the Acropolis.

I choose this hotel based on the reviews.
Its main advantege, which is 5 minutes walking distance from Victoria Station, is vanished, because the metro is currently not working from Omonia to Attiki stations.
At first, I was given a room with no lights in the hallway, very small and with two bedside lamps, but none were working.
I told the receptionist, and his answer was: "we know that, the last passenger broke the lamps".
I requested another room, this was slightly better, but there's no safety box in the room, amenities are minimal, no writing materials, no frigo bar.....
If you want to eat something, they will order for you, because "we run out of menus in English".
The area is not exactly the best if you decide to walk from Omonia Station (about 15 minutes).
The staff is really nice, corteous and cooperative, they recommended me great places for dinning or shopping.

This conveniently located newish boutique hotel is true value for money. The rooms and bath are beautifully decorated and the service is faultless. The only drawback is the hotel is located in not the best of neighbourhoods, but presented no problem for us. The Archeological Museum is 2 streets away as is the nearest stop for the' hop on hop off' buses. If we were to return to Athens, we would stay there again.

This hotel is clean, modern and nicely done. The staff is kind and helpfull.
There's a metro very close, maybe an 1 or 2 minutes walk, which can bring you everywere.
The metro is good in Athens and not expensive. You shouldn't do anything with the bus or a taxi. The metro can even bring you to the airport!
The roof is also a plus and the wifi too! nice bathrooms and the rooms are perfectly cleaned everyday!
Perfect place to stay!
