“Quality Food in Touristy Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

All advice is to avoid the expensive and often ordinary restaurants of Athens Plaka, however, against advice we chose an attractive little restaurant Eat at Miltons (Alain Parodi restaurant).

The food was outstanding and was accompanied by delicious bread baked on the premises.
Service was excellent with all dishes willingly explained. Four different orders resulted in outstanding, freshly cooked food, the star of the night being a spatchcock baked in bread. The deliciously moist chicken delighted, with the juices permeating the bread, so good. This restaurant is innovative with its offerings and particular with the presentation of food. It is not cheap but prices were fair.

“Outstanding food, poor service and atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

This restaurant has a lovely location and looks beautiful. All the decor, tables and lighting are excellent. Ultimately it was this and the menu that drew us in.

We were given a cocktail menu immediately however we just ordered a local beer. The food menu is not too long, which is a good sign in my opinion. We ordered the tuna and the cod, both of which were 5star. I followed this with a chocolate fondant which was also top notch. These are all the good points about our experience...

The bad points: the staff are just dire. There were too many of them, so they looked like bored school kids on dress-down Friday. They spent much of their time having conversations right by our table or with some bloke who (I'm guessing) was also staff waiting for his shift. This guy spent his time plonked on the table next to us (there were plenty of free tables, the place was only 20% full) chain smoking, on his phone or talking to the front of house girl (who was actually dressed very smartly unlike the rest if the staff).

The owner was also 'serving' - he seemed pretty good - so we were surprised he didn't notice the state of his staff - I don't think they'd received a day's training in their lives.

My other complaint is that we were only given the bread basket as our main courses arrived. I ate a small piece to mop up the sauce. When then bill came we'd been charged €5 for this. Pretty cheeky.

Overall, it's worth it for the food - but I hope the chef finds somewhere more deserving of his/her talents, soon.

“Elegance in the Plaka”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

As we explored the plaka we walked by this elelactic setting. We came by the next night. We were greeted by a transplant Swiss gentleman who suggested a wine for us that was delicious. The service was great. They brought us a nut bread with an egg plant spread. We began with a new style Greek salad that was a large tomato ring that was topped capers onions cherry tomato and deep fried prawns with a sweet chili sauce. Both good. Our main course was a GOAT confit stew. It was not a confit but a roasted leg in a sweetish wine sauce.-Divine-. Dessert was a large tiramisu that we felt was not up to par. Overall the experience was great, service, ambiance. The only knock for this kind of place was the paper napkins and when we mentioned it, they brought cloth ones.

“Good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

This place looked great at night when we were walking back to our hotel and so we decided to try lunch there on the following day.

Menu is nice with greek and italian dishes and a good balance of salads, meat and fish dishes. Prices were a bit higher than what I was expecting, specially drinks and desserts.

However when food arrived I was very well impressed with the quality, taste and presentation.

The place is well decorated, comfortable and quite sophisticated.

Location is nice but can get a bit noisy with cars passing very close to the esplanade.

“Romantic dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

We've tried the pasta dishes & the salmom & fig appetizer, simply perfect.
The staff are very friendly & smiley, they were really welcoming us to their lovely small restaurant.
Its a french-Greek restaurant so if you're looking for typical traditional Greek food then you wownt find it there but i still highly recommend to try this restaurant whenever you're in Plaka.
Best drink i ever had was the mango champaign :) so give it a shot.

The only draw back could be the small portions of the plates nothing else.
