With the road to Dantewada from Jagdalpur getting a lot better recently, the distance of 85 kms can easily be covered in around one hour fifteen minutes. However it is better to start early from Jagdalpur and come back in the afternoon after the Mandir Darshan.
Danteshwari temple is situated at the entrance of the town. As such the town is very small and there is nothing much to see. There is hardly any good eatery too.
But the temple is very quaint, situated on the banks of the Shankini and Dhankini rivers' confluence. Males visiting have to put on a yellow lungi while paying obeisance to goddess, women have no such restrictions. The temple as such is quite small and entry and exits are entirely hassle free.
