“Lovely local pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We stayed in Wort well for a holiday last week. This pub was a short walk from our holiday cottage and was perfect for a nightly walk and drink sitting outside enjoying the lovely weather. Happy hour is between 5 and 6 Monday to Friday. 50p off per pint of glass of wine. We also had a meal which was good honest pub grub, very hot and tasty. So I can testify it is fully open and worth a visit

“Not quite fully open yet.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

Encouraged by the last review and a fan of the place about a year ago before they closed, we booked for last sunday evening. They had not warned us they had no new oven yet so their menu was highly restricted, sausage, scampi and a couple of other less than enticing dishes. No starters. Not much choice of wine either. Couldn't someone had gone out and invested in a hot plate? Service was of the nervous, "oh dear oh dear, sorry " sort but really they shouldn't have been offering hot food if they weren't ready yet. There were three tables of disgruntled locals, don't suppose any will be back quickly. Please 'Bell', we need good pub food locally, you've got to get it right fast.

“Open Now! June 2014”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

The Wortwell Bell is now open again serving excellent beers and English pub food at excellent value for money. The landlord is a local established landlord who knows his trade. The atmosphere is fantastic - all in all a lovely village pub - well worth a visit.

“Closed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

This pub/restaurant closed in March 2014 and there is no sign at present (16 April 2014) of it re-opening. Such a pity for an establishment that had been so good in the past.
