Just returned from our honeymoon at the boathouse it was the most incredible holiday we have ever had .The hotel is beautiful the grounds are stunning The food is very varied they cater for everyone .The last time we visited we got upgraded to the honeymoon suit this time we didn't so we did pay the extra so we could have the same room as we had before it was done beautifully for us .Must mention the Valentines meal on the beach one word WOW. Now the staff they are all fantastic and can't do enough for you but Baw at the pool and breakfast is amazing always smiling and fantastic at his job also Beau in the lobby bar at night thankyou for putting up with us till silly o'clock you are a star .We are now saving to return as soon as possible .

Room Tip: we chose room 141 as we had been in the room before but i'm sure they are all lovely

Okay, honestly I can't say anything about location, but the service is terrible. The shuttle to pick us up at the airport: 10 to 15 minutes late. We check in. At the front desk they tell us the bar is open until 11:00 p.m. (last call at 10:30) but we go to the bar at 10:00 and they tell us they are closed. The next day....I recently hurt my back so I asked the front desk if I could have some ice in a bag...they understood what I was asking for, and agreed that they had ice but directed me to the street, implying that I could go buy some ice at a store. Totally nickel and dime you...seriously, you pay for extra water and stuff in mini bar...and breakfast is nothing to write home about.

We have just come back from about our 8th visit to this hotel. It has a very high number of returners and improves all the time. The staff are wonderful, the manager, Doeke is fantastic and I would recommend anyone to stay here. Every year that we go there have been improvements, the hotel is constantly being looked after and updated. The breakfast is amazing with fresh fruit, cereals, egg station, noodle bar, continental breakfast and much much more. Doeke is very visible, very personable and patient and stops any potential problems before they become issues. This year we stayed for 20 nights and next night I hope to stay for more. Our adult children stayed here the month before us and a friend of ours stayed whilst we were there (his third visit). The restaurant is good value, the scallop dish was so wonderful and I had to stop myself eating it at every meal. There were also some excellent lobster dishes, good quality Western dishes and a wonderful soup with noodles, chicken and tofu that made me feel healthy as I ate it. The free wifi was much improved and is something that Doeke is continually improving so that this year we accessed all our gadgets easily in our room as well as around the hotel. The siting of the hotel is also good, not in noisy Chaweng although you can visit there cheaply. There are lots of local shops and restaurants, basically everything you need is on your doorstep. I will be reviewing and posting photos of the food on my blog leilaslocallarder.com but will add a couple on here. Certainly a couple of local sites picked up my tweets of the food and retweeted as it looked so delicious. Well done to Doeke and the staff and we look forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: We love the poolside rooms but the boats are well worth a try for something different.

We just got back from a 6 night stay in one of the boat suites. I am so glad that we booked for a boat suite as it was a very nice accommodation.

The boat suite was spacious with living around upstairs and downstairs was the bathroom, bedroom and a little lounge with desks and wardrobes. There were plenty of storage space for your things and the bed was huge! It took around 4 body rolls to get from one side of the bed to the other! The bathroom was nice and big, but the bath tap fitting was coming from the wall. All the flooring was wooden and there were quite a few steps in the bathroom and leading to the bedroom which you need to be careful of.

The upstairs lounge was nice and comfortable. We had friends coming over for a visit and they found it very comfortable and convenient that they didnt need to sit there looking at our personal things lying around the bedside.

All hotel staff was very polite and professional. There was some maintenance works near our suite which they warned us about, my partner was a bit sceptical of the noise at first, but it turned out it was just a few workers digging up the walkway.

The breakfast was plentiful. However, would have loved more fruit choices, as everyday there were only 4 kinds of fresh fruit to choose from. I would have thought, being Thailand, there were a lot of you can source for such a hotel. I love the fresh noodles you can have for breakfast, very healthy and tasty. The eggs and omelete were made to order, no fault with the chef there.

The hotel swimming area leads out to the beach, very nice! There were plenty of parasols and sun loungers. I like the daily pool towel system, where you are given these cards in exchange for towels, if you lose the cards, then its fee to pay, fair enough!

The bar staff are very friendly and attentive, I love the cocktails from the pool bar, very nice!

All in all, I would recommend for a nice relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Def chose a boat suite!

Overall the hotel is as good as it gets.as some of the other reviewers have said the bathrooms are due a refurbishment.
The location is perfect, right on the beach. The grounds are beautifully kept with two great pools.
Breakfast is varied and plentiful.
The staff and friendly and helpfull, and always smiling.
We had the seafood buffet a couple of times and it was great value.

Stayed for 7 nights in two connected premier rooms which was perfect for two adults and two children. The hotel is getting old which is taken into account in pricing but the location is still perfect and it has the benefits of a large resort. Excellent breakfast, nice two pools, free kayaks, snooker table, free wifi (although not that fast and stable) and so on. Very friendly staff and always available to help you. Choeng Mon area is really nice and hotel provides transfer to Chaweng if needed.

In the rooms that we had my only complaints are old small CRT televisions and shower water temperature not being stable.

Excellent hotel with good comfortable, clean room. Breakfast varied and appetising. Dinner menu could be a bit better but food well cooked and delicious although the lighting was very sparse so difficult to see whats on menu and what you are eating. Stray cats and dogs spoil the idyllic setting a bit. That said have been there several times and will go back again. Magical setting and wonderful grounds.
