“Average Hotel, a little subpar for a Hilton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

There's nothing wrong with this hotel, but's certainly just average. First, the location is ok, but why not stay a bit closer to the Grand Place? It's not far, only a km and there is plenty of shopping nearby if that's your thing. There is a very nice little park just behind the hotel. The room was definitely very nicely done, but I had an upgraded HHonors room, so I can't comment on the regular rate rooms. The breakfast is ok, I have had better and I would definitely would not be taking it if it weren't included via HHonors status. Nice steam room/sauna, but the gym is quite small and lacking, honestly. There are six cardio machines and some free weights. The gym room itself is very small.

Room Tip: Currently construction out the front, so the view is not great, but haven't notice too much nois...

This hotel is located only about a block from a major train station. (Gare du Nord). Although it looks like it is isolated, it is right near a pedestrian-only street (Rue Neuve) which will take you right down into the heart of things in a ten minute walk. It is also across the street from a large shopping center (City 2 Shopping Center). Breakfast was good and the rooms were nicely contemporary. It is also one block away from the botanical garden.

Spent three nights here in June 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Met at reception Desk by Mustafpha and made a friend for the entire visit. As Hilton Gold members we did get a room upgrade and it was very nice. Although the hotel does not have an Executive Lounge they do offer a weekly Hilton Honors cocktail reception for two hour once a week. We enjoyed the reception and haws very impressed with are conversation with the manager, Jan. great location since it is an easy walk to the Grand Place and all the restaurant streets you will ever need. Never worried about safety around the area. For those traveling by train it is a very convenient location to the North Station. For the Metro the Rogier is right out front. Enjoy Belgium, it is a very beautiful city.

As with all hilton's you never quite know what you're going to get. The location is quite poor, there's very little to do and the North Railway Station is just round the corner... The room was ok, but nothing special. The pillows were awful but the bed quite comfortable. The room could do with a make-over. If you want a drink or a meal in the bar I suggest you go up to the counter and order, the service is very slow

Dear guest,

We appreciate the time you took to write this constructive feedback, which I will take on board for further consideration. Your comments will help us to improve our service and standards in order to fully meet your expectations when you stay with us the next time.

I would like to sincerely apologies for the inconveniences encountered, especially regarding the pillows and the service in the bar, which are also very important in a hotel. Therefore I will further elaborate on this problem as soon as possible. I am pleased to inform you that we have planned a refurbishment of our standard rooms over the summer in addition to all of our recently refurbished executive rooms.

Sincerely yours,

The hotel is approximately a 20 minute walk from the Grand Place. It has a taxi rank outside, a cab can cost you approx. 15 euros to Gare du Midi and take approx. 15 mins depending how crazy your driver is. The service, rooms and food were all excellent quality. The bar is expensive even for Brussels. Breakfast was a fantastic spread with lots of choice. My husband and I are in our late 40's and we would avoid the bars in the vicinity of the hotel which were open all night, they seemed rather dodgy to us but that's just our opinion.

Lovely room, amazing beds with the softest pillows. Amazing breakfast with the biggest selection I have ever seen. Super friendly staff who give you free wifi codes each day if you ask. Great location, can walk everywhere, even if the block it is on is a bit unattractive it couldnt be easier to get around. We had an amazing deal where we got the room for a small percentage of what it normally costs so excellent value for money. Oh, one small niggle, the bathroom lights are motion controlled so if you want to read in the bath you get plunged into darkness after 5 minutes and have to stand up and wave :)
