“Everything you could want & then some.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2009

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews for this hotel.
I travel a lot on work and am frankly up to my eyeballs in soul-less, dull, murky, depressing and over-priced hotels. Bloom was like a breath of fresh air - quite literally.
From the moment you enter the place you are welcomed by a beautiful aroma - which in my case helped shake me out of the stupor travel puts one in...
The rooms are delicately but very aesthetically decorated...and do a lot to calm and relax the weary traveler. Finally a lot of thought has gone into providing amenities in every room, such as coffee/tea making machines, free water (joy!) and free wifi. Also, I believe they have free room service...though am not entirely sure, as I never needed it. In short the service is practical and to the point. I ate a few times in the restaurant downstairs, and wasn't disappointed. The breakfast bar is cheery and generous in what it offers... but be sure to get there in time to avoid the hoard of airline staff that frequent the hotel.
To sum, a great hotel to stop at for the business traveler as well as those on a wkend break in Brussels. Its strongest point is that it doesn't fall into the impersonal mundane trap of mainstream hotels.

Plus points:

Good location as far as I was concerned, as the office is 5 mins up the road.

Great deal as part of a Eurostar package. Would have been fed up if I had paid rack rate as it's not werf it. Very expensive (tonic water e4, sparkly water e4) and food didn't look like I wanted to spend the money...and I was on expenses!

MP3 player connected to the TV - nice.

Free water in the room - thanks!

Senso coffee maker - which sort of worked - but loved the idea.

Negatives:

Bathroom was a bit iffy, hairs of previous resident left in various visible places, bit off putting....wonky loo seat and toilet roll dispenser...all a bit basic for an 'on trend' joint.

Noisy - don't know what was going on but both nights had disruption in the corridoors....

Lack of ambience - it was trendy but....not really happening.....

Sorry chaps - I think you thought you'd done a better job refreshing the place than I did.

Stayed there for a night, following the recommendations of other people on Trip Advisor, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. Location is far from ideal, as there isn't much in that area and we didn't really fancy having a meal at their overpriced (probably just about average) restaurant.

The rooms were far from spotless. Our acclaimed Senseo coffee machine had not been cleaned or serviced for God knows how long, and as a result, it produced some foul smelling beverage that didn't look or smell at all like coffee. The bathroom was dirty: old soap had disolved in the container near the bath with a clump of hair!

The room where we stayed was really nice and spacious but the artwork they are so proud about is far from being the Sistine Chapel that they kind of make out.

Staff were just about pleasant and not really going out of their way to help. Every service that you would expect as standard in any hotel was sort of done grudgingly.

I´ve stayed in Bloom for two nights. I arrived on Sunday evening and at around nine the restaurant was already closed. The very unfriendly staff could only offer some ´snacks´.

The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is old fashioned. If you like Senseo coffee, you´ll be in for a treat...

You can find worse hotels in Brussels, but you can certainly find a hotel that is a lot better.

The room was very spacious and light, modern and a good bed! However, staff was unfriendly and just not very welcoming. Furthermore, the room was really nice, however the details were missing: there hadn't been vacuum cleaned under the bed for weeks, and the bathroom is rather old fashioned in comparison to the modern room and the rest of the hotel, which also looks pretty good! A nice touch is that the entire hotel is scented :)

Stayed here for 1 night and had no complaints at all. Rooms were very modern, clean and spacious. Breakfast was included and did the job nicely. Location was about 7-10 mins walk through the botanical gardens and will take you to the main shopping street and city 2 shopping centre.

The BLOOM Hotel is a very trendy lounge hotel. Rooms are modern - with funky wall decorations. Breakfast is very good but rather expensive (25 euro). Interhet is for free. Bathroom could be cleaner.
