“Excellent for short break away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

We went to Brussels to visit the Christmas markets this hotel was in a very good location, comfy rooms. Great links for local transport, metro station is only 2mins away. High street is only 5 min walk away and you can follow this straight into the xmas markets.

I have just returned from a 2 night break here. The rooms are clean and functional. Each one is unique. They are massive. The bed is so comfy the tv shows BBC . It is 2 minutes from the metro and about 20 minutes walk from the centre. Brussels is lovely all be it on the expensive side. There again it is a capital city. We travelled on Euro star first time ever well impressed. I would travel the world on this rather than fly.

I'd booked us in for my wife's birthday. We arrived early on the saturday and left our bags at the hotel before walking into the centre to sample the culture (beers). We returned in the evening to find out they no longer had a room for us...somehow they'd given it away. I don't think we were the only ones either. We felt the lass on the counter wasn't particularly contrite. So this is a big negative for the hotel. However they put us up for the night in the Novotel Tour Noire in a better class of room, right in the centre with breakfast thrown in and a free beer and paid for a cab there and for the return the next day. They then also upgraded our room for the second night back at Bloom and gave us the breakfast for free as well, so while they messed up they did make amends and we ended up getting a better deal. Nice hotel, walkable to the tourist spots and near a metro if need be but we needed earplugs due to the traffic noise though but we're quite light sleepers. Incidentally they sell an 'erotic box' at reception...

Having just returned from a weekend stay at the Hotel Bloom my review is extremely fresh.

The pros of the hotel are:
1. Lovely large rooms
2. Beautiful unique art work on bedroom walls
3. Fantastic location (15 minute walk to Grand Place)
4. Great mini market directly over the road, good for pastries and they do the best freshly squeezed orange juice (go here for breakfast and enjoy in your room at a fraction of the hotel price)

The cons are:
1. Very noisy from the trams and cars that seem to beep their horns all day and night (we were on the third floor at the front of hotel)
2. Poor supply of coffee, only one sachet given even though there was two of us
3. Horrible, horrible shower that was actually painful to use and felt like you had needles being shot in your back
4. Busy reception with no orderly queues

Would recommend and return just ask to be on a higher floor or at back of hotel.

Room Tip: Either at the back of building or as high up as possible

We stayed for four nights, metro and tram right next to hotel, we also walked back to hotel from Central, short walk. This is a busy hotel, great bar and great food. Staff very nice especially Pia at reception she is exceptional.... Small supermarket directly across from hotel food, wine and everything you need here. Good wi-fi. Will use this hotel again. Breakfast not incl. in our room rate and costs 19 euro for buffet breakfast !!! Expensive.... We bought fruit and breakfast yogurts at supermarket and it was good to have a lie in and have these for breakfast on one morning. Fridge in room to store milk etc. One little gripe, I'm a tea drinker and the senso coffee machine makes both tea and coffee but there was always a strong coffee taste inthe tea. Would prefer a kettle. Went to a Turkish restaurant five mins from hotel on two evenings which was very good for meat dishes and Turkish pizza. No alcohol served here. We had two main courses, one meat and one pizza accompanied by Turkish bread which was delicious, salad and some dips and coca cola for drinks, all for €20! It's called Metin and on Chausee de Haecht no 94. ask at reception for directions. It's on a street full of Turkish restaurants.

Room Tip: Our room no was 437 , a big corner room facing the botanical gardens, not quite a full view of the g...

We had a large room in this very hotel, new hotel, just outside the old centre. Just outside the inner ring around the old city centre. Walking to the famous Grand Place takes about 40 min. The room, beds, bathroom are great as is the general design. We werer also very positive about the breakfast. The area around the hotel is not very attractive, no shops nor restaurtants. The hotel has a good restaurant but with restricted opening hours. We found it closed on a Sunday afternoon.

Hi Frans,
Thanks for your positive words for our hotel. We are glad that you enjoyed the room and hotel design. Next time you visit us, you have to try the metro to go to the city centre!

We stayed here last weekend for the Christmas market and were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is about a 15min walk to the city Centre which is a pleasant enough walk or there is a metro just outside. The lobby and bar were very modern and trendy while the rooms were very spacious and clean. The only negative we would have is that the beds are very hard! We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. If in brussels would defiantly stay here again!
