“A very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

We stayed in the Sheraton, with my family for 4 days and I can say that we had a nice time in Brussels. The location is very nice, not far from the shopping street and the city center, quite a good number of good restaurant nearby and a nice room. The service at the recepton was always great and we received always a good service.
Still I can regret a few tihings : the lobby is always full of people surfing on the internet as the WIFI is only free down there. Why is it not possible to have a free wifi access in the room and have less people in the lobby. Anyway, these people are not spending any monney in the bar or so ...
Although the staff at the reception was always very helpful, I did not find the same attitude from the concierge service . some of you concierge are very helpful and could make everything happen to help your customers, but some of them are simply useless. We arrived by car and the doorman / concierge just showed me the way to the parking withoug offering me to leave the family and the baggage at the entrance ! The same guy was also not very helpful when asking him about the direction to some touristic places.Maybe it was not his day !
All in all, we had a very nice stay in Brussels and I could recommand this hotel in future.

Thank you for your overall positive review and ratings. We are grateful that you had a very nice stay and would recommend our hotel to others, and also that you found the vast majority of our staff to be service-minded and helpful.
Concerning internet services, the "Link@Sheraton" is a signature product and includes complimentary computers and wifi in the lobby and public areas. Our rooms do not currently have wifi access (only wired internet, for a fee), although we are hoping to be able to make the investment of wifi access for the guestrooms in the coming year.

Look forward to welcoming you back soon to our hotel,

The rooms are very large by European standards. Our room had two queen size beds. One sagged in the middle, but the other one was good. The location was excellent. It was an easy 15 minute walk to shopping and the La Grand-Place. The train station was very close too.

Thank you for your positive review, we are happy you enjoyed your stay!
Just for the record, our rooms have either king size mattresses (2m x 2m), or full/double size mattresses (1.4/1.5m x 2m) and not queen size.
Kind regards for the new year,

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2011

We were in Brussels for a four day trip for Christmas. The Sheraton was good value for what we paid. The room was large, bed was comfortable. The bath was well equipped with 2 shower heads, but showing a little age. There is adequate closet space. In-room cable internet is free for 30 minutes a day, but painfully slow. Cost for use over 30 minutes is 6 euro per hour. There is wireless internet in the lobby, either on 5 hotel computers or your own. It is much faster, free, but sometimes crowded. Floors seemed to be divided between smoking and nonsmoking, and we noticed no smoke odor at all. It was quiet, and near downtown, so lights were bright at night, but heavy curtains to shut out the light, so much so we slept well into the morning several days.

Service was generally adequate. We had no difficulty checking in early morning after an overnight flight from the US. The concierge was available and helpful. Check out was delayed by computer malfunction, and we had to leave without a final bill.

There is no ice available other than through room service, but there was no charge. On 2 occasions, the service was very fast, on another we waited about 30 minutes for a bucket of ice. We ordered a bottle of water through room service, because none was available elsewhere. The front desk clerk told me a big bottle of water would be 3 euros. What we got was a bottle of Vitel for 8.50 euros, which we felt was a "bait and switch" scheme. Movies on TV in the room are 15 euros each.

Location was very convenient to the train station, and to downtown, about a 15 minute walk to the Grand Place. There is also a metro station nearby.

Overall, we would stay there again, but make sure we had our own water.

We appreciate your feedback and your positive review - including "good value" overall for price paid.
We do apologize for the temporary computer malfunction at check-out; however we were able to send your invoice by email at home.
Concerning the bottle of water, I fear there may have been a misunderstanding in your conversation with the front desk associate since the fixed cover charge for any room service order is 3 Euros, and in any case the item prices are clearly listed in the room service menus (with respect, we certainly have no "bait&switch schemes").
Thanks again and kind regards for the new year,

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip.

Check-in was real slow for 22:00.

Lifts were supersonic to rooms. Usual Sheraton refinements, clean and functional rooms.

I needed to work late and the chair, desk and table were perfectably acceptable. The room I was in was had an adjoining door, the occupant arrive home at around 02:00 am and I could hear their laptop boot up with Microsoft theme tune, an hour or so later, the enevitale snoring too. May just have been the family style room I was in.

There is free fixed line Internet access from the business centre on the 7th floor (i think) with a nice breakfast area and several CNN connected LCDs, papers etc. A peaceful place to start the day, with nice views.

I checked out at 08:15 and admittedly it was a friday morning with contractors and US airways staff all checking out, organised chaos with the obligatory queue jumpers.

The staff were friendly and said Friday AM was always crazy. I guess simple things like managing the queue and communicating should help.

Get your own Taxi, we waited ages and eventuallly gave up and walked the 30 mins across town.

I am not being negative, the hotel is in a great location, someone just needs to get hold of the morning madness and improve the check-in experience.

Clean and tidy Rooms for sure, lovely chocolate too!!

Room Tip: Use the business centre for breakfast.

It was last Christmas when I was in Brussels and it was great value for money staying at Sheraton. The hotel is at prime location. Close to city centre and great links for transportation i.e local, cross country and international. The view from 8th floor was amazing. If I can I will try and stay there again.

We stayed 2 nights at the Sheraton and it wasn't a great start when we arrived after 11pm and check-in took around half an hour as the receptionist didn't know how to work the system, nor correctly input my name into the computer to find my booking. More than 3 people were working on our booking and this was unnecessary. When it all finally came through, our room (booked for 2 double beds) was only 1 double bed described as a queen bed. Despite the bed being smaller than a queen, the bed was very comfortable and there were many channels on TV. One downside was that the walls were very thin and we could hear a very loud couple doing you know what next door every morning...

We didn't spend much time at the hotel and didn't use the facilities as we were out exploring the city so I can't give too much of a review on the facilities.

However, the location was great and we were around the corner from the main shopping strip which was handy and only a 10 min walk from Grand Place.

If you want a "nothing special" hotel then the Sheraton Brussels would be it. Luckily we had a cheap deal on the rooms 62 pounds per night as I would not be paying full price for this place.

Dear guest - Thank you for your review.
Nearly all of our rooms have either one king-size bed (200x200), or one or two full-size beds (140 or 150 x200). I am glad you found our Sweet Sleeper Bed to be very comfortable, and I do apologize for any confusion and for the slow check-in (we have had new night staff in training).
We truly would like to be something more than "nothing special", and hope you will come back to give us another try.
