“nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Visited on a Saturday night, and everything was fine but not amazing in any way. The impression I had was of a place that is well known and popular and has started to coast-they stick to their formula but it was a bit soulless. We ordered olives and they came out of the fridge onto the table still covered in clingfilm- they were really chilly and not nice olives anyway. I noticed that all the other cold starters came in the same way, something I have never seen before and really didn't like. Our main course of bean stew with clams and prawns was fine but not marvellous. I've had beans with clams before which works well, but adding shell-on prawns didn't really work as you had to put your hands into hot beany stew to peel them. Service was reasonably efficient and mostly friendly. The wine list was pretty minimalist. The decor was OK but there were small TV screens showing constantly changing local photos and this was distracting and pointless.

“Un bon repas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

This small restaurant specializing in seafood is very nice and tastefully decorated with a marine theme. We had some good wine here and we all enjoyed our lunchtime meals. I ordered the calamari that came with jumbo shrimp and small potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious. The portions were large and overall it is very good value. In addition, the service was fast and efficient. Recommended.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012 via mobile

We were 6 adults, 1 chef and two cooks. We all loved each one of the dishes we ordered. Also the peice was very reasonable for all the food, wine and deserts less than 25 per person. Fried sardines, bacalao croquets and fish roe. The sardines were perfect, the croquets light and tasteful and the roe's dressing keep calling the bread. Main dishes were two styles of bacalao; one Galician way and the other pouched in olive oil. Both were devoured as soon as they arrived. The lobster rice was delicious. Each dish was for two. Coconut cake with blueberry couli was speacily memorable. We will go back and strongly recommend it.

“Should have been better, and quite expensive for the locale”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2010

We ate a reasonable meal here, but left disappointed. Starters were fine but not great. The main, a "house speciality" of white beans with seafood was nothing to write home about - no real depth of flavour, although the beans were excellently prepared. Service was merely adequate, not helped by a surly chef who came out twice. Would we eat here again? Probably not.
