“Top value at current rates!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2011

We came for three nights over Xmas. I almost didn't book as I feared the low rate was a reflection of quality. I'm glad I took it anyway. Rooms were great, Spanish buffet breakfast excellent, staff wonderfully helpful. With two good restaurants (Artemisia outstanding, Club da Gula very good) within 3 minutes walking distance and all else not too far, there is absolutely bo reason why you would book elsewhere.

Had a short stay of one night in Porto and we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel!

It is very clean, modern, safe and comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet and complementary WI-fi/wlan throughout the hotel.

There are a few good and affordable snack shops across the street and next door to get lunch or cafe.

The hotel is a 12-15 Euro taxi ride from the main train station and a 10 minute walk to the Carolina Michelas metro stop which will get you to the airport in 30 minutes and for only a few dollars.

We went as a couple to Porto for two nights in October 2011. The hotel had all main supplies and staff were very friendly and made recommendations as to what to see and where to eat. The room and toilet were spacious and we had a nice flat screen TV. The walls were a bit thin though. We recommend a corner room. The hotel is not in the central UNESCO part of the city, but is at the border of the overall city, so it took us about 20mins to walk to the water. The hotel staff surprised us with champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries as it was our anniversary. Overall a good hotel that we recommend, but be prepared to walk a little bit, though it is Porto so walking is expected.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and have always been very pleased with it. It's very modern and polished but also very comfortable. The staff is always very professional and friendly, and there's a great little lounge and deck area just off of the lobby. Great breakfast buffet, too, with loads of wonderful Portuguese pastries. The location is within about 15 minutes' walk from the central Aliados area, and from the beautiful waterfront. There are several good restaurants within a couple of blocks of the hotel, and some great, funky little clothing shops and nice art galleries very close by. I've stayed in about five hotels in Porto, and this is hands-down my favorite. My only criticism is the wifi, which, although it is free, has a varying signal strength. However, you can borrow an ethernet cable at the front desk, and this will solve any connectivity problems.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the back of the hotel and on the main floor may be quieter and have a better wifi signa...

Clean and fairly new hotel, good breakfast buffet, nice decoration, free wifi, good parking area, little bit noisy on corridors, we strongly recommend it

Everything is in very good condition, helpful staff, internet with printing possibility, tasteful rooms etc. A hotel where you could also pass a couple of rainy days without getting depressed.
Perhaps the car park is a bit expensive with 12 € per day; noise protection from neighbouring rooms could be better, but overall very quiet location. The city centre and the riverbank are in walking distance (10 and 20 minutes respectively).

Eurostars das Artes is a regular hotel, nothing particularly special, but not bad either. It sits halfway between the city center and the Boavista business area, which means is inconvenient for both. Close to the Miguel Bombarda art gallery zone and the Palácio de Cristal. Bed a bit too hard; desk a bit too small, with no free electrical outlet (just had to unplug the TV). Very quiet (but got a back room). Breakfast was OK. Reception personnel had a funny Spanish, which means that they treated me with too much familiarity. We got a 65 euro rate (breakfast included), which, for a four-star hotel, was quite a bargain.

Wi-fi reception did not work; said they were aware of the problem but in three days they could not fix it
