“A wondeful warming ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

It was the last day in Portugal for our holidays and fortunatly we found this place, THE restaurant of our portugal staying. First, the welcoming was so awesome, from the lady who hosting you and serving you. She speaks very well french and we think she's fluent in few languages. Secondly, the "before" (apéritif) was major with a perfect home-made wine and a lot a thing to nibble in order to wait the awesome portugal's dishes. It's really tipical, you must to order fish and particulary salmon or octopus because they are expert of it. If you want to crunch the Portugal, go to this restaurant. Enjoy it!!!!

“Excelente atendimento e exclentes tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

I've recently been in this fine restaurant in a friend's birthday dinner and it was great. The owners were always asking if everything was ok and if there was plenty of food and sangria for everybody. We were treated like family and we felt great there. The food was really good, we had various typical portuguese and spanish tapas. One of the owners is spanish so she knows a thing or two about tapas you won't be disappointed. For 15€ we drank and ate plentifuly and were treated like honoured guests what more can we ask? Go there and see for yourself!

“Simply amazing!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

For all the visitors around in Porto, this is a restaurant worth of visiting, don't let the entrance of the place fool you, it's simply one of those places, where you are treated like a king, from really humble and kind Portuguese people, who will make you enjoy your stay from its very own beginning till the moment you leave, no words are required about the food, more than a culinary delight, with its big portions, and great flavor, and unbelievable cheap prices.

enjoy your stay there, as much as my girlfriend and me did

“Great food, friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I must say that I quite liked our visit to the Sao Joao restaurant. It is a nicely decorated place and the owners were really friendly and made us feel like at home. I had the typical Francesinha sandwich and my wife got a cod fish with whiping cream, and the portions were so huge that both of us had a hard time finishing the plate, even though the food was really good. The price was alright, as well. Petr, Czech Republic
