“Favorite Restaurant in Porto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

My boyfriend and I found this place on tripadvisor and were not disappointed! The food was really good with ingredients that tasted fresh. The service was also great. The waitstaff was so friendly and went out of their way to recommend things to do in the area. We liked this place so much that we went back a second time. We would especially recommend the panna cotta which was the best panna cotta either of us had ever had. Really cute little place with nice ambiance and yummy food!

“Interesting 'Baby Eel' dish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

We went to this restaurant because of the high ratings on Tripadvisor, and, we were intrigued by the the highly recommended dish ‘Baby eel’. This dish was indeed very tasty, a perfect starter. So we were looking forward the rest of our meals. However, the mains were quite disappointing. The pork cheek was full of sinew, very dry and tough; the monkfish had very strong fish odor. We asked the very friendly owner, she kindly took our dish away and gave us the honest feedback. She admit that the pork cheek was really tough because the batch they had were full of sinew, although she said monkfish normally smells quite strong. Being a first timer of tasting the fish I trusted her. (however, I had a look on the internet, if the fish is fresh should not have strong fish odor.) So, we were kindly offered another two mains instead of these two. Honestly, they were just mediocre. Despite all these, we still enjoyed the conversation with the waiter, and, the young white wine the owner recommended to us. At the end, we had a bill without being charged for two mains but still came back with a mixture feeling about this highly rated restaurant. Personally, I do think this restaurant is going to do well because of their honest and humble attitude towards customer’s feedback.

“7 stars in Porto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

If you are in Porto seek out Jimao Tapas e Vinhos and experience their portugues tapas like no other.
eyedeebeees had read about this small intimate restaurant on tripadvisor, and from the moment we were welcomed by Carmen we knew we had made a good choice. In fact it turned out to be excellent, and we revisited again two nights later.
Everything, just everything was perfect, at the hands of a skilled host who with her team deliver astonishingly good food and wine (and the odd glass of port) and provide advice about everything on the menu, including the high vitamin A,C and K content of turnip leaves as well as places to visit in the Douro valley.
If we could give 7 stars we would and we suspect other reviewers would too.
Heaven.

“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

A small restaurant somewhat hidden in Ribeiro, but the service and the dishes are really exceptional. They have a good wine selection from the region, and they offer tapas' and full meals as well. We had a very kind waiter, who basically improvised a port wine tasting event while serving our desserts, offering and highlighting the difference between the various types they had.

“Great food and fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

This restaurant is small which makes it quite cozy. We wanted to sit outside so the owner moved a table so we were more comfortably seated to watch the world cup. The server had great recommendations and shared with us his favourite foods. He was very good. When we asked about the wines he suggested a wine which was mid priced, we chose a more expensive one that was excellent.
The owner was attentive and friendly making sure that everything was as we wanted it.
Overall the food couldn't have been better, we had two orders of one of their special tapas of the night because we liked the first one so much.
Our server was very attentive and we chatted with him but at the same time he gave us our distance when the food was ready to be enjoyed.
A highlight of our time in Porto and a must when you are visiting.
